Insomnia and eye operation

I am Liz with a little over 2 months.  Does ANYONE have INSOMNIA?  I don't have the horrible pain that many of you suffer from, but I still can't sleep.  I fall asleep easily at about 10 PM and wake up after about 4 hours.  This is new for me since I got ic. I never had trouble sleeping.  I can still work full time, but am fatigued.  Many of my symptoms are betting better or are gone, like foggy brain, blurry eyes, constipation, back ache and itchy back rash.  I am really am depressed tonight.  I don't look forward to going to bed.  Last week, I had an eye operation, called a Macular Pucker.  I had a scar removed from my left retina.  Luckily the eye is healing.  It was really scary having the operation.  I got my eye problem the same time as ic.  The bladder and eyes are all connected.  My INSOMNIA started the same time.  Needless to say, I have alot of anxiety surrounding my eyes.  Probably emotionally affects my sleep.  I did sleep better before the eye operation.  I had to put antibiotic eye drops in for five days.  I had a little set-back with edema of the ankles, bloating and gas. Does anyone have any experience, strength and hope with INSOMNIA?  One of BomaMeds specialities is treating INSOMNIA.  They treat the underlying imbalances first. I hope to talk to some of you at the Saturday support group.  I feel soooo fortunate to be living in Los Angeles and so close to Matia.  Love to hear from anyone.  I feel so connected  to you all on this healing journey.  I don't have to feel so alone.  Thank you for your sharing.

Liz

Amy: Where are you from?  Are you going to be at or phoning in for the support group this Saturday?  I also have an appointment with Matia tomorrow?  I am just so tired of not sleeping?  I will post a reply to you also after my appointment at 3:30.  Matia says sleep will get better in time.  Have you every had trouble sleeping before ic?  Just knowing there is someone out there that is experiencing the same thing is very comforting.  Hope you sleep better tonight.Liz

Liz:I am still stuggling with insomnia and I am almost a year into treatment.  Feeling very frustrated with this part because it makes it so difficult to work.  I fall asleep easily and then at about 1:30 in the morning I awake and the vicious cycle begins of waking to go the bathroom and falling asleep over and over.  I feel like I am on a rolercoaster ride and I hate rolercoasters.  I too would like to hear from others who have conquered this.  I ahve ordered a new set of herbs from matia this morning and hope these are going to help.

I saw Matia yesterday and she changed my formula.  I slept 8 hours last night and got up once at 4:30.  That is amazing.  She said my eye operation, along with antibiotic/steroid eye dropsreally upset my system.  The edema in my ankles has returned.   She is sooo comforting.  She told me I will get my sleep back.  I didn't know it would be so soon.  I haven't had any pain/discomfort to keep me awake.  If I can sleep, I know I will start healing quickly.  She is so caring and dedicated.  I will be attending the support group today at 4 pm. Hope to talk to you. I am so lucky.  Kriste, I hope your new set of herbs works.    Liz

Thanks Liz: I sure hope that it works.  Should be arriving soon.  I am really glad to hear that you had a good night of sleep. I know how wondeful that must be.  I will only be able to participate in the group for a short time as I will be picking my son up from the airport.  he is coming back from Mexico.  Wish us luck that we stay healthy.  I worry that if I caught this flu it could set me back.  Thanks for updating us.  It gives me hope.

Is the meeting always on the first Sat. of the month? Is that 4:00pm CA time? Will it be at the new location/number again? Matia usually posts a reminder. Tammy

He is in the Mayan Riviera.  He has been there for one week.  Hope all will be okay.  I live in British Columbia, Canada.

The good news is that we know that it's not as dangerous as first suspected. We also know what to do to prevent it's spread. I don't think that area of Mexico has had a problem. Tammy

Nicole,  I totally understand your insomnia.  My insomnia sounds exactly the same.  I am going to go off Ambien with Matia's help in a few weeks.  Ambien is a very unhealthy drug.  When I first went on it, I hadn't slept well in sleep two years.  Ambien seems to knock me out through the worst hours of my pain.  I am so thankful that Matia will be able to guide me through this process.    Do yo think your fainting spells are related to low blood sugar?  I have had a few spells in my life.  One was when I started my menstral cylce and had bad cramps.  The other one was when I was prenant and dehydrated.  I often feel light headed in the afternoon and it clears up if I take a short nap.   Here's to a good night sleep!

I am not sure about my fainting spells what they are about. I think they might be a combo of things. Right now i am on my period and I seem to get them more often then. I know out b vits are depeleated when we are mensing. I am sure there are also other things going on. I was always on the anemic side when i would get blood work done. I am always dehydrated can't seem to hydrate myself no matter what I drink a gallon a day sometimes more. I am just so thirsty all the time. I am also more anxious during my period. It has gotten a lot better this time around no full on panic attacks in a long time I just get general anxiety . THese spells kinda freak me out though I just get all woozy and feel like I am going to faint. Somtimes I do blank out for a moment and those are scary esp with my history of epilepsy. I actually think the Candia might have a roll in this because it seems to create a lot of nurological symtoms and dizzness is defiantly one of them. Also I don't know about you but the probiotics make me emotional.
