does anyone ever get super itchy spots on their hands/inside of their wrists? only happens every now and again and i dont' get a rash or anything, but for some reason i get these "itch attacks" and always on the lower left side of my left palm (under base of my thumb) and then down into an inch of two of my inside wrist. i just think it is such a random place to get an itch.i looked it up to see if any meridians go through that area and it seems like only the lung meridian does - and as far as i know, the lung meridian doesn't have anything to do with IC, pelvic pain, etc. So, possible there's no connection, but just wondering if maybe anyone else has experienced this and if you know i there is a connection.

i get that from time to time it's definatly yeast. i looked closer at mine and saw little tinny bumps. I could hardly see them they are skin color but they are there and it's in the same place your talking about.

Yes, but for me it's on my lower legs bigtime, mostly at night.  They really are "itch attacks" -- aptly named!

I have had itchy rashes before on my body but not my hand but it doesn't seem unusual as our skin is a major eliminating organ and I think Nicole is right it is probably yeast and other random toxins getting kicked out maybe causing some irritation and itchiness along the way. You are right about that being the area of the lung meridian but did you know that the lung and the large intestine are very closely connected? In TCM the organ meridian systems work in pairs- kidney and bladder work together and Small and intestine and heart/ lung and large intestine and gallbladder and liver. Its like the buddy organ! one is yin and the other is yang.  Here's something interesting I notice- I find that as an ex smoker ( quit years ago) as I go through treatment and get cleaned out in my intestines that I am coughing up old lung stuff! I also know that when I am meditating and doing exercises that involve deep cleansing breathing- also chanting which causes long pauses and deep breaths in betweenthe chanted prayers as well as the vibrational tones of the syllables I am chanting this  action leaves my lungs relaxed and stimulated.  I always found my bowels were more regular when I would do it consistently. So I think that it makes perfect sense for you to elimanate on that meridian.  I don't know alot about TCM- only what I picked up in books and from working in an acupuncture clinic as a massage therapist but I do know that when you are talking about an organ meridian like the kidney sits not just talking about the kidney like the organ we know and love in western medical texts- its like a whole system that does what we know it does ( filter & elimination of waste)  as well as having a host of other responsibilities in synergy? with other organs systems. all these organs have their functions and yet do so much more. they have expansive functions and these buddy organs- rely on each other. they have important relationships!   so as you are cleansing out the large intestine its affecting the lung meridian too. I'd say its a positive sign. now my question is does anyone ever get werid crampy  pain in the dead center of their palm when they do something simple like try to grasp something? I've been feeling like I have arthritis all the time. my joints/muscles are tight even if I do yoga -like rubberbands and my area between the shoulder blade and spine feels crazy tight with knots! Yuck. Even though its crazy hot outside I 'm kind of glad because feeling all creaky and knarled would be wretched if it was cold and rainy outside .thanks for reading. - Mary

so interesting to hear that lung and large intestine meridians are connected. i had no idea. i guess the itching hand would make sense then. but it never comes out as a rash. i have only had a rash once that came and went within about 30 minutes and that was on my arms. these "itch attacks" are on clear skin, but i end up scratching so much that often i end up bleeding. most of my attacks over the years (i've had these for as long as i can remember) are around my lower legs (same as you lisa!) - either on my ankles or the top of my feet. i have tons of fading scars from the scabs i've gotten after over scratching. but, this hand/wrist thing is newer. haven't had much of the leg itchies during treatment. but at least i know i'm not entirely alone in this weirdness. the thing that confuses me though is that matia said she feels my case is really more bacteria than yeast based on my die off symptoms i assume. so, when i get itchies like this, i get confused. since, like nicole mentioned, i would think anything itchy is yeast related. but if i don't have yeast, what would it be? does just bacteria cause skin stuff the way yeast does? or, could i have a bit of yeast mixed in with all that bacteria? i don't know. i guess it doesn't matter. but since my progress has been so, so, so slow, i can't help but analyze every single aspect of what i'm going through. i'm at 9 months and still feeling very little improvement in my vulvodynia. i feel great otherwise - high energy (when i'm not super down about the pain still being there), period normalizing, ibsiness good - but as i've said a million times on here , still dealing with vulvar issues/sacrum & leg burning. sometimes, i do think that the sacrum/leg stuff may be a BIT better - it's always beeen very on and off, but had a number of good days with that, so hoping that is due to treatment and not just coincidence. Also, vitamin d addition a few weeks back seemed to calm things overall, but it's SO inconsistent - changes constantly. hard to say "oh this is working" when that could change within hours. still, feeling positive about the vitamin d, so that's at least a good thing. anyway, i'm rambling and most of this is off the topic of itchy hands, but just kind of all poured out. anyway, thanks for listening. hope everyone is having a positive day.p.s. honeybee, haven't had crampy palms, but have had transient soreness in my knee (outside of knee - around IT band area) that makes me feel like an old lady. on my hands just the itch attacks and swollen fingers in the middle of the night. funny how my fingers wait until i'm sleeping to swell up and then scare me half to death when i can't get my wedding ring off and think it is going to cut the circulation off to my fingers. good times.

Mary, I have the same sensations in my spine and all the joints. I thought it was from picking up and carrying around my 27 lbs baby, but I am now realizing that it can't be all over the body just from that. My shoulders hurt, my back feels tight, then all of a sudden I develop this strange pain in my wrist or my knee. These things seem to be all transient, but they pop up in different places every day. Just bizarre!
