I have a pretty crazy schedule at work, and don't get to eat my dinner most days before 8:30/9 pm. Recently I've been snacking more often and gain a few pounds, sometimes quiet late, too. I know it's bad in general to eat anything after 7 pm etc. But I had figured if it didn't bother my stomach, why not? Recently a book i read mentioned that late night snacking is actually countereffective with detoxing. That kind of freaked me out. I guess bc we don't digest properly, or overload on our digestive system, we are not letting our system to do its detoxing properly. I want to ask Matia about this next time, as i am torn now between maintaining my weight, and enjoying an appetite versus making it harder on myself to detox, which seems more important to healing.
I try not
to eat after seven because I just don't feel as good later on. It's been that way for me for years, so I am not much of a snacker at night. It would be interesting if you learn what Dr. B thinks about this concerning detoxing, if you could share, especially how it affects our healing. There is always so much to learn. :)
Hi Mrs A, :) I haven't yet
Hi Mrs A, :)
I haven't yet gotten a chance to speak to Matia about this yet, but as I read more into my book, it says that after we eat a meal, it takes our bodies to digest it for 8-10 hours depending on how heavy the meal was. During that time, digestion becomes the body's main task and stops all others like detoxing to later. According to the author, we should have a 12 hour system, meaning, once the 8 hour period for digestion is completed, then body will start the detoxing period, which should be at least 4 hours. So if you ate a meal at 11 pm at night, you shouldn't have breakfast before 11 am the next day. Otherwise you are skipping detoxing and starting digestion process again not letting your system rest and do a proper job. Just interesting :)
This is so interesting,
Selichan. Thank you for posting this. I usually try to not eat after 7 pm. And I eat breakfast around 7:30 am, so this might be really helpful in healing. I really appreciate you explaining this a bit more to me. :)
Dearest Mrs. A, You are so
Dearest Mrs. A,
You are so sweet and patient, and it's always so warm to read your responses. :)
I am pretty sure what seemed interesting and new to me is common sense to many :) Being the type of person who has never put time or thought in to these things, finding out about even the simple stuff is pretty exciting to me. heh heh.
Oh, thank you,
Selichan. That is so kind of you! I get pretty excited about the simple stuff, too. :) And we never know what simple thing is really such a big help. I am just always so thankful for all the learning shared on this forum by so many. It makes my treatment with Dr. B that much richer.
