My Story- Update

Forums:

Hello Everyone- My name is Camille and I have been IC free for over 10 years.  I worked with Matia and had great success in early 2000. I often think of you all, and continue to pray for an end to this terrible disease.  I have added an update to my story to let people know I am still OK.

Update- October 2014

Another 8 years have passed since my last update.  Can you believe it, 8 years!!!  Time sure does fly.  I am happy to report that I am still IC free.  I am a mom to an 8 year old and a 5 year old. My health is great, and physically I am in excellent condition since I work out 3-5 days a week.  It is always in the back of my mind that life could have been very different for me had I not kept hope and determination.  My advice remains the same. Never ever give up on working to get better.  You deserve health and happiness, and there are still people like Matia Brizman out there who have helped many people to get well. She gave me the help I needed to get 100% better after the antibiotic therapy.  I had come to a stand still, I could no longer do it alone, and she was there. So there are people out there who can and want to help.  Find what works for you, I know you can do it.

God Bless and Be Well
Camille

For those of you who don't know me, my original story can be found on this site or at www.icsuccessonline.com. Never give up hope. Ever!

Thank you so much for this. I have been sick over half my life with IC and gave up on my hopes and dreams of having children or ever  having a day without IC  which is the defining moment of every detail of my day and this gives me hope. I always worry I will never be able to go without treatment to at least manage my pain or ever find a husband because I feel inadequate sexually now that VV joined all of my other symptoms 4 years ago....I am reading your post over and over trying to muster up hope that all these fears may get better! I was having a bad day depressed about this hell I call life for the past 20 years and doing the Why Me crying. Thank you for perfect timing and god bless. I tried to reach out to a few from that site when I first started treatment didn't get much of a response so was hoping everyone was stil doing good.

Christy- I so know how you feel.  I was there and sometimes it is hard to keep the faith.  I understand.  I have talked to many woman with severe IC over the years and many of them did get better, and for a lot of them it was an even slower and harder process than mine but they did it.  Hang in there and just keep going.  I will pray for you.  BIG HUGS, CAM

Camille, thank you so much for sharing this - it was just what I needed to hear tonight!  I really appreciate you reaching back here and giving us the pep talk we need.

5 years ago I found your ICsuccessonline.com website that led me to Matia and I am grateful for your effort to support others in a similar boat to your own.

And Christina1 - I could have written the exact post that you just wrote down to a T.  20 years of IC, having a rough day, etc.  Please know you're not alone and we're in this together!  That's the biggest takeaway I have from this site is that I'm glad I have a space where I can share with others who truly understand.

Hey There- I can eat anything I want without any trouble.  I generally try to eat healthy and always have to stay fit.  I have had to watch my weight since I was young.  I do 2-3 hour long weight training classes a week (Les Mills Body Pump), 1 cycling class and one 1/2 hour class for abdominals.  I would say if consumption of anything gives me trouble it is alcohol.  Now that makes me go to the bathroom a lot.  But since I have never been a big drinker it's no skin off my nose to have it once in a while.  And sometimes if I am sick with a cold or flu it seems to make me pee extra. These things are completely livable.  I hope that helps. Kindest Regards Cam

Camille- Did it take you a long time to get over the trauma of IC? I feel liek I have had soem improvements but I am still living in fear of things worsening (although when I feel good- I am pretty calm!) But I just can't imagine a time when the fear is totally out of my head. I am amazed thta you can have occasional alcohol etc. I really hope I get to a day where I am just able to live (within reason)

Camille, I am so glad you posted your story here, you are the reason I found Bomamed, I owe you a huge THANK YOU. When I first got IC and was told it's incurable I spent 3 days solid searching for any sucess stories online, I never found bomamed in those searches, but I found your website and it led me to bomamed. I've been in treatment for 3.5 years, still a way to go, but doing a lot better than I was an d I believe I will get there. I am eternally grateful to you for putting your story up online! THANK YOU SO MUCH! claudine

Hi Cam, thank you do much for posting and letting us all know that you are doing well. Do you have occasional agave? Did you start to take that gradually as you got better or did you wait till you were completely better first? What about bread that contains yeast?
