Natren's Healthy Trinity vs. Healthy Start System

Hi Everyone,

I am an old-timer - symptom free since 2006 I believe (and still counting) AND I'm nearing my 9th month of pregnancy.

The only thing that I continue to take are probiotics to maintain a healthy system and I've been taking what Matia had originally had me on - Natren's Healthy Start System 2 x per day - separating the probiotics from the capsule and dissolving them in water.

It would really be a lot more convenient for me (for travel, etc.) to take Natren's Healthy Trinity. Does anyone know if there is a specific reason why that might not be a good idea?

I'm gearing up for taking my Group B Strep test and I want to up my probiotics in advance of that test.

Thanks for any guidance you can provide!

I believe there is a much higher concentration of bacteria in the Healthy Trinity than in the Healthy Start System
The following is copied from Natrens website:-
HEALTHY TRINITY DAIRY FREEPROBIOTIC STRAINS USED: 1 capsule contains:
Lactobacillus acidophilus , NAS  5 billion cfu
Bifidobacterium bifidum , Malyoth  20 billion cfu
Lactobacillus bulgaricus , LB-51  5 billion cfu
HEALTHY START DAIRY FREEPROBIOTIC STRAINS USED:
Lactobacillus acidophilus , NAS  2 billion cfu per 1 capsule
Bifidobacterium bifidum , Malyoth  2 billion cfu per 1 capsule
Lactobacillus bulgaricus , LB-51  2 billion cfu per 1 capsule
I hope this answers your query and I am so pleased you are doing so well and contradulations on your pregnancy.

What is a group B Strep test?

It's a test that you have to take just prior to delivering a baby. Group B Strep lives in most people (just like many other kinds of bacteria that live in your gut, etc.). The presence and amount comes and goes. When you near term when you're pregnant, they give you a test to see whether, at that point, you have Group B present in your vagina (and some doctors do rectal area as well) to assess your risk for passing it to your baby. If you test positive, they give you antibiotics upon arrival at the hospital.
It's not an IC issue - but I'm trying to avoid antibiotics if possible by eliminating the likelihood that I will have Group B Strep in my system when I'm tested. Also, I want to up my probiotics prior to delivery given the strain on my system in general.

Wow....they never did that when I had my son 25 years ago.  Thanks for letting me know!
