i have been doing the diet for around a week now...prob more...
cheated a very small amount in the beginning...
but not at all now...
i had to order the herbs cause i was not able to get them at whole foods...
i am eating list one and i think kamut bread is not gna work so thats gotta go....
so i havent started the herbs yet and i am eating brown rice,all protein,brocolli and yellow squash...i am already bored...LOL...and i am still flaring...please dnt tell me i have to cut out the brown rice....could this b y i am still flarin or should i wait and see until i get the herbs?...i cant live on protein and veggies only...i am allergic to eggs..i havent been really eating potatoes cause i like brown rice better and its easy...can anyone give me advice?

I would keep eating all list one foods in your diet unless you notice an increase in pain/frequency an hour after meals. I ate a lot of spelt items at first. Lundberg makes a great brown rice pasta. I would advise reading the posts on food. You will get so many new ideas. My IC is also severe with pain being my worst symptom. The pain has been a huge motivator for me to stay on the diet and get better. Some people see a reduction in symptoms right away while others take longer. Make sure you join in the monthly support groups. By understanding the cause of IC, it is easier to follow Matia's treatment guidelines because it is only a matter of time until your symptoms decrease. When your herbs arrive make sure to take them apart from meals and track your symptoms in a journal. I saw several breakfast ideas a while back. One person made breakfast sasauge. Baked potatoes are nice in the morning. In Asia, they eat soup for breakfast. I have made spelt pancakes and zuchini muffins. Some people just eat a regular meal at breakfast. I would do several searches on this site using words like breakfast, lunch, dinner, ... You can do it!

Yellow squash can be a problem for some on list 1. Have you tried broccoli? Have you tried spelt bread? What about your water? Tammy

hi tammy...tried spelt bread and after i eat it burn burn and pee pee...after i eat brown rice the pain and peein is as bad as if i ate a slice of pizza...so i am coming to the conclsuion i prob cant toletrate grains well...i am gng to try potatoes and white rice...i am drinkin poland spring...
