Hi All,
Quick question - do gluten free plain potato chips count as being ok for list 1? I realise either way this is probably something to be take in moderation as it's not that healthy but it IS potato so I thought perhaps as a sneaky treat here and there it might be ok? On that note - are fries ok as well?

As long as they are cooked in olive oil with just sea salt they are fine in moderation, however they should not be eaten on their own, always eat some protein at the same time.
I eat potato chips cooked in sunflower oil here in the UK as that is all we can get, but only a few at a time.

I dont remember if potatoe chips were ok on list 1, knowing they are not a healthy snack, i avoided them till list 3. When i want chips, I usually get the kettle brand organic, seems less oily then regular. Make sure its not made with vegetable oil mainly cause that uses soy which is bad for us. List 1, your body still very sensitive and for me hardest was to break my bad snacking habits so i really forced myself to avoid them. I used to eat fries outside if they used canola oil, but it's always shady what the restaurants use and i ask everytime even if its the same restaurant and get a different answer each time. What i do is slice potatoes thin and throw them in the oven with sea salt, to satisfy that craving.

I've always had potatoes chips since list 1 (I'm on 3 now). Yes, they are completely unhealthy, but they sure beat eating sweets when you're feeling cravings for old "comfort" food.
The brands are great:
- Trader Joes (olive oil and salt only)
- Cape Cod, reduced fat (canola oil and salt only)
