Hey Ladies, I am struggling and needing to reach out for support. My husband and son are back from their trip to Honduras (yay!), and a lot of wonderful things happened there and are happening here in regards to their mission. God is bringing people to help, like physical therapists in Honduras who just showed up where they were working and offered to give free physical therapy to the people who are receiving prosthetics.
But I am still in flare-mode. As soon as I start to feel better, if I go for a car ride or go for a short walk, the pain gets worse again. It's so discouraging. I have been basically stuck in the house, in bed constantly, for three weeks because of this flare and I don't know when it is going to let up. I feel hungry all the time, like my body just needs a ton of nourishment.
I feel so depressed right now, and I'm trying to do things to relieve the depression, but it is difficult. I know you guys can relate, and I just really need some encouragement from people who understand.
I am so sorry Rachel. I was
I am so sorry Rachel. I was in a flare exactly how you describe for three weeks or so. Mine was from using a homemade salve for 3 days that totally screwed me up. I remember feeling so discouraged. My husband kept telling me that it was just a minor setback and that I would get on the other side of this. He was right. I don't know why but I always go to DR. B's soup, as I call it, during these hard times. It seems to calm my system down. I will eat it for every meal with a different protein. I saute cabbage, onion, zucchini, broccoli, and celery til soft and then add water to cover with a little olive oil, salt, and oregano or thyme. Let cook 20 min then puree. For breakfast I will eat it with an egg on top or for lunch or dinner with cooked chicken or beef. I will also add in a small amount of carb to the meal, for me that is navy beans or red lentils. It is wonderful what your husband and son did in Honduras. I love hearing stories like that. I will pray for you Rachel...I wish I lived close by to make you that comforting soup. Love and Hugs.
Thank you, Mrs. A. It helps
Thank you, Mrs. A. It helps to know you went through the same thing. And thank you for the soup suggestion. I need to try it. :)
Thank you for your prayers as well. I have been praying for so long that I would get better. I just never thought I would be still struggling so much for this long. But I will keep trying.
I wish we could hang out together too...

Rachel Ann- I hope things are lessening a little for you. like Mrs A- I wish I could come sit with you and make you food to fill that hunger . Maybe that is a good sign that somehting is shifting? Much LOVE TO YOU!!!!

Deirdre, I really like the thought of something shifting. And I really like the thought of us hanging out together. :)
I hope you are doing well. I'm still in bed a lot, but things actually do feel like they are shifting because Dr. M is having me try some new things. The pain has gone from burning to more of a stinging.
Please pray for me. I am going to see a hematologist this Friday to discuss my blood test results. I am still having issues with low iron. I need God to guide my steps.
