Thanks for any thoughts. Pressure and frequency are by far my worst symptoms. It varies from 3x per hour, to once an hour. In the afternoon, several hours after lunch I can go 1.5 hours without peeing, but I usually feel like I need to go after about an hour. It is SO CRAZY MAKING, and of course makes me feel like I am not progressing. For now I am lucky that I am sleeping 6-8 hours straight at night! But during the day it is horrible. Nothing I do with my diet seems to make much of a difference.
If frequency was one of your symptoms and you have been in treatment for a while, when did it start to die down. I am losing my mind with this. Trying to stay positive that I don't have high pain, but am really uncomfortable most of the day.
Thanks!!
Everyone is Different
Hey Mimij,
Everyone is so different. I've been with Matia for a while and I still struggle with frequency. It goes up and down. I also have pain issues though, and I had IC for 12 years before I saw Matia. I went the western medicine route and then started with Matia when that stopped working.
I think the main thing is to trust your body that it will get better in its own time. Just keep doing everything Matia tells you to and the frequency will soon be a thing of the past. And the word "soon" is relative. Compared to how long you will feel good, the feeling bad part won't last that long. It just feels like it is taking forever because we can't see the end.
Hope this helps! It helps me to remind myself of it :)
Lisa
Thanks Lisa Ann
I think your perspective is right on. I need to remember it!!
Thanks !!!

Hey mimi, frequency was my absolute worst symptom to start with. It bothered me psychologically MUCH more than the pain; that feeling all the time like you need to pee is just grim and weird, felt like I couldn't believe my body anymore. My IC started in October 2010; I got my head around it and started on the diet by December 2010 and I reckon by April 2011 the frequency had much much improved. By the end of 2011 it had resolved completely. Until mid-2012 I'd still get very faint background urge to pee on and off but this too has resolved in the last six months. Obviously everyone's different but this was my time line; the frequency was the worst thing for me but it was also the quickest to respond. Hope it's true for you too!!
Thanks Sarah C!
Sarah, you could NOT have put it better. "Grim and weird". It is like I am in a bad dream a lot of the time, and my body is not my own. It is very disheartening to go for a walk and be 15 minutes into the walk and realize that if i want to keep going, it is going to be very uncomfortable. Or to be in a meeting or at church and to have to leave once or twice, when everyone else is just sitting comfortably. It feels so unfair!
It is helpful to have some kind of timeline, even if we are all different. I guess I should have known that this symptom would take a few months or more to resolve. I just feel so abnormal. Thanks for posting!!!
