Left breast congestion

Hi all,

I have posted about this before, but wanted to again to see what kind of response I got.  For a while now in treatment, I have been getting what I would call a congested feeling in my left breast... This is accompanied by tingling/numbness/weakness in the left arm/eczema on the same hand etc.

I get so terrified about the possibility of breast cancer.  I know I have cystic breasts... Both are cystic and lumpy all over... I wouldn't know breast cancer if it walked up and introduced itself to me.

Anyone had this?  I heard one of Matia's patients had a lot of problems with cystic breasts and it went away after treatment.

Thanks,

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette, until a few months ago, I also had that congested feeling in my left breast. I have cystic breasts and my left breast just felt buzzy all the time, like there was a mild electric current running through it. It was hard not to pay attention to it. Have you ever tried thermography as an alternative to a mamogram? It really helped to put my mind at ease that I didn't have cancer, and it also showed where the congestion was and that my lymphatic system is not functioning optimally. Soon after getting these results, I decided to try not wearing a bra for a while (I can easily get away with this, I'm an A cup on a good day ;). And within a couple of days the buzzing sensation disappeared. I think my bra was just constricting things too much. My breast still feels congested sometimes, but the buzzing is gone and I am seeing a definite overall improvement. Hope this helps.Carol

For many years prior to the onset of IC I had terrible breast pain, also in my left side at about the 3 o'clock position, near the armpit.  I had such anxiety about it and must have gone to my OBGYN 3 times about it, with two negative ultrasounds.  I had a woman doctor harshly tell me I have fine breasts and should wear a looser fitting, non-underwire, bra.  I'm a D-cup (or was at the time) and she was an A at best...and I thought...right, no underwire, really not possible!Anyway, I asked several friends who are doctors about it and no one could explain it (go figure).  Since going off birth control almost 2 years ago, it's gone completely away.  And I did experiment with different bras and found that helped, though didn't cure it.  I also did the other suggestions such as no caffeine and took loads of Evening Primrose Oil, but wasn't consistent.  In the end I know it was related to hormones and being out of balance.   And I know now it was my body whispering to me that things were not quite right within my body but regular doctors didn't make any connection to anything, just told me it wasn't cancer...which was nice to hear but at the same time frustrating to not have answers, much like dealing with IC in the beginning.I would say don't worry about it and I'm sure Matia is right in saying it will disappear through treatment.   I was recently told I have early signs of glaucoma (at 35) and when I told Matia she said, oh that's nothing to worry about, it's all connected and will disappear!  Who knew?!  Has anyone else had eye issues?
