Just wondered if anyone else also has the feeling of hunger or like they are not at all satsified ALL of the time??  I'm not sure if I'm eating enough but it's such hard work trying to prepare all this fresh food everyday.  I've been on list 1 and 2 for about 9 months although I do at times add in things that I can get away with from further lists.  I'm sure it's all part of the process but it would be nice to have an idea of how long this lasts..It's like before I started the diet I could consume alot of sugary foods and it was like they were just being eaten up (internally) before I got any benefit from them.  I can't remember the last time I actually felt full as in I could not eat another thing.

Molly, I feel the same way. It is hard to eat just meats and veggies. I was actually reading a study online done my MIT on women and they said that in humans especially women Carbohydrates release serotonin which is needed to make you feel good and stabilize your mood and hunger.  It is important to eat carbohydrates for this reason, but it also said you want to eat them with minimal protein when you are trying to feel full or get the full release of serotonin.  This is hard to do on our diet because we are not supposed to. I was doing research because I cannot tolerate any carbs and I feel like my mood and appetite go hand in hand but there is nothing I can do about but eat more veggies. So maybe if grains don't bother you then try eating a little larger portion with like one egg so you can get the feeling of fullness. :) Good luck!! :)

Have you tried soaking grains to see if you tolerate them better? All grains are digested better when soaked as it breaks don the phytates. there is a lot of informaiton about this from Weston Price fouindation or other traditinal foods sources. Just a thought!

I read that there are breads made of soaked grain flour. Not only they digest better but also they are healthier. I wonder if anyone has information on that.

I feed my kids Ezekial bread and I used to eat it. it is all saoked grains- not flour. It is definitelyhealthy but has a lot of stuff we can't eat.

You're right, it is probably soaked whole grains, not soaked grains flour. I read about it in Weston A Price Foundation publication. It mentions that such bred would be in a frozen section in a supermarket.
I found Organic Spelt Bread from the French Meadow bakery in my local organic store. It has spelt flour, filtered water, and sea salt; that is it. I think it works fine for me. They have other breads, but they contain ingredients that we cannot have.

I felt this so often, food was never enough after having a good meal. Its hard to understand why feel so hungry when you are full, I think the brain just doesnt get the signal correctly, and also I started to think this hunger/craving is kind of related to a kind of love we lack and need in our lives, just my personal idea. I was just reading a book saying the body needs to have rhytm for digestive organs, and thats why its good to eat 3 times a day rather than eating constanly in between, which made sense to me--and it was the way I used to do when I was a kid and wasnt craving in between meals.  Also high protein and fats kind of helps, esp good fats.

I am starving ALL THE TIME.....Is ridiculous..... I guess is because we don´t eat carbs.... also I´m repeating the same message to myself over and over "you cannot it this...you cannot eat that"......so you can get a little bit obsessed with food to be honest...

All interesting stuff and very valid comments.  I am on occasion going to increase my carbs but also try to eat at regular intervals rather than the constant snacking (on nothing more exciting than a few rice cakes i'd like to add)
Getting back to a normal relationship with food will be so nice..

I hear you about the normal relationship. SOmetimes I just get this horrendous panic feelinglike "I will never just go out to eat and not think about it again"

Nyree, snacking will make you hungry. According to Matia's diet, meals should be 25% carbs, 25% protein, and 50% vegetables. If you eat balanced meals, you will feel full longer.

I've been in treatment for a while (over 3 years) and just recently feel full after eating.  For awhile it was so bad, I was eating SO MUCH I was the subject of constant teasing (I'm a very small lady).

I also ate (eat) according to the ratios, and that did not help me stay full.  Matia says this is normal during treatment.

I'm sure it's all classed as 'normal' whilst going through this process, I just find at times I need some reassurance that there are others out there suffering the same.  I suppose distraction helps a little, doing something else before it's feeding time again! :)

I feel hungry all the time too....but for me, I think part of it is boredom with the diet and just the fact that we can't have what we want makes us want more too!
