Old Post:
The pharmacy list I gave several posts ago are general and for many different types of infections-viral or bacterial. However, added to that list-just in case, would be dianthus formula and chuan xin lian.
I will use a different combination of things in the event of UTI and nearly never have to have a patient resort to antibiotics for this, but, having all of the various things on hand at the onset of this can be critical to not loose the precious hours that one needs to get the bacteria moving in the better direction.
So best to have on hand, ear formula gan mao ling #2, goldenseal, dianthus formula and chuan xin lian.
New Post:
If you wake up in the middle of the night with a UTI, take 2 ear 2 GML #2 and one goldenseal--stop the rest of your herbs immediately and contact me in the morning. This combination is generally necessary to take 4 times per day for about one week's time.
9 out of 10 times this combo will be enough, although sometimes dianthus formula and or chuan xin lian are important to have.
Getting caught off guard without the proper herbs on hand can mean going to the ER and taking antibiotics, which, may be avoided otherwise. I strongly suggest having them on hand. I personally am never out of herbs in my home. I always have these emergency herbs on hand, these and the others I have mentioned in previous posts. This way no time is lost, as one may not have a lot of time with infections, which multiply quickly once they have taken hold of your body.

Dear Dr. Brizman,
Dear Dr. Brizman,
Is gan mao ling #2 the same as gan mao ling special formula?
I just ordered gan mao ling special formula but on the bottle I received it just states 'Gan Mao Ling'. Is this right?
Also, is the treatment you describe in case of UTI ok to take during pregnancy also?
Finally, how would you know the difference between a real UTI and an IC flare? With the importance of acting quickly i would rather be prepared and know what to feel. (i have never had a UTI).
Thanks for the clarification!
Thanks Dr. Brizman!
Thanks Dr. Brizman!
I have the same question as to how would I know it was an IC Flare or a UTI? Would we start feeling better after several doses and if not we would most likely conclude it was a flare?
If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.
Gan Mao Ling #2 is the
Gan Mao Ling #2 is the bomamed version. For Gan Mao Ling, I like boma better. For Zhong Gan Ling, for example, I like Plum Flower better.
Dear Matia,
Dear Matia,
It would be very helpful if you could repost the herbs that we should take and keep on hand if we come down with the flu or a cold. I don't recall that blog. Thanks a lot..Julie

The forum has been closed for so long now - no idea what happens if you comment on such an old post. I'm having either a horrible flare or a horrible uti. I am so scared and feel so isolated and miss this site beyond words. It doesn't help that the anti-anxiety herbs are something that you discontinue while under uti protocol - I'm just kind of spiraling down a dark hole. It does help that these old posts are still here - I am grateful for that
