Diet list 3

I am on list three and have been very cautious to try things for fear of a flare up in my symptoms.  Just wondering how others proceeded when going to list three.  I am afraid to try tomatoes, onions, peppers other cheeses, grapefruit etc...  When cooking I will literally be going back and forth with my decisions as to whether I should add something or not.  Have any of the list three foods been particularily bothersome for people.  I do realize that we are all different but still interested in others experiences.  I have added plain yogurt and been fine also added blueberries and carrots.  What other cheeses would be okay?  Is feta too strong?  I was thinking of making spanokopita with spelt phylo but not sure if feta was okay.  Any suggestions from others would be appreciated.

Thanks Kriste

Hi Kriste, Do not be afraid to try new foods. I recently got the Ok to try list 4 ( I started on list 3 after 2 months of treatment) and I too was a little scared. You're right; everyone is different, so try things slowly. I am OK with tomatoes, onions and red peppers (green peppers are a little harsh). I have tried mozzarella, muenster, and provolone cheeses...all have been good. I have not tried feta cheese yet. I just tried eating grapefruit 2 days ago since I thought the citric acid would be too much to take, but I did fine. When I am not sure how I will react, I eat just a couple of spoonfuls to test it. I think it is great that you are advancing to another list. Good luck and enjoy the holidays. E Salinas

Don't be afraid to to try foods on list three. It took me a while to get to list three, but once Matia gave me the green light I was really ready for it. I can have everything on list three plus feta. I have a tomato and feta omellete every morning and it is the best feeling in the world because I have worked so hard get here and now I can really enjoy it.

Thank you for your replies and your encouragement.  Feta and tomato omlette sounds wonderful!  It is amazing how much more I appreciate food.  It is interesting how others react to my food.  At work I always have comments about how fresh my food smells and how healthy it looks.

Hi Kriste,
congrats on advancing to Diet 3, I just started diet 2 but I have to wait until Monday because the stores are closed on Sundays here, lol.
I feel the same, sort of in my confort zone of knowing that my foods are non-harmful. But just imagine all the new cooking possibilities, wow. So exciting haha.
Take care and have fun with cooking :-)

Just wondering how people have been when trying to introduce foods that have natural sugar like carrots, spaghetti squash, fruits etc...  Last month I tried to add carrots but I think that I reacted to this by increasing urination.  This month I added spaghetti squash and I think that I may be recting to this.  I am thinking that it is the sugars.
