hey everyone,
matia just switched up my regimen to get a bit more aggressive and so far no major fallout. but, one thing i have noticed is that my ears are SUPER itchy (like i've scratched them so much that now they actually hurt to touch cause they are almost raw!) and my carb cravings seem to be more intense. not a big deal and not complaining, just wondering if anyone has had the ear itchy thing. it's so random, i just had to ask.
also, for awhile now, i've been getting a lot of ear aches - more like surges of deep ear pain. i used to get a lot of ear infections when i was a kid. it's kind of like that feeling, but it only lasts a few seconds each time. that's another weird one i was curious about.
other than that, just plugging along. doing okay. would very much like to see more definitive progress, but seem to be seeing some slight, VERY subtle changes for the better. but, so subtle that sometimes i almost wonder if they are real. at this point, just trying to keep my chin up and my head in a positive space. i know a lot of you have said that your changes were very subtle as well in the beginning - so that gives me hope that the snails pace i am experiencing is par for the course.

Yes, I have had very itchy ears quite often on and off, as well as sharp pain in my ears and ringing. I've also had the increased cravings for carbs, like no matter how much I eat I am still hungry, b/c my body isn't getting the carbs/sugar it wants. Those symptoms seem to wax and wane. When the cravings push me over the edge, I drink a bunch of water. It seems to help. I also have had a lot of weird things happen with my eyes. I'm always relieved when Matia says it's just die off. It can make you think you're crazy.

I've gone through the itchy ear thing a few times, but my itch is inside my ear canal where you just can't get to it. It comes and goes. The ear pain thing you mention is a newer symptom for me, I'd say it started when I was about 3 years into treatment. It's a sharp, stabbing pain that is very brief, but comes maybe 5-6 times in a day. That seems to come in clusters. I've mentioned both to Matia and she said that ear symptoms commonly come up during treatment.

you know every time i think i have a completely random symptom that no one else will be able to relate to, you guys come through and make me feel normal again! thank you for your responses. i'm just amazed at all the strange things you can feel on the way to getting better. it's almost humorous. between the pregnant looking belly and the red/overscratched ears, i'm a real vision these days!
