Lunch meat

Is lunchmeat from the deli ever ok?  I am just trying to look for something that is quicker and can take on the go.  Sometimes chicken breasts just arent convenient and it would be nice to be able to just grab some oven roasted turkey.

Just thought I would ask.

Look for Boar's Head brand.  They have some meats that do not have the nitrites in them and have the least additives, but some of their meats are like the normal deli meats, so you have to be careful.  I think their website has a list.  Deli meats probably aren't the best thing to be eating, but if you want to eat them occasionally, Board Head is the brand to choose, in my opinion.

depending on where you are in the list i know applegate preslices are ok. also if you go to wf they should have one at the deli counter that is not presliced that is called plainville this comes in turkey and it doesn't have anything but turkey not even salt. i know they also have a roast beef that has pepper on the edges sometimes sometimes plain.

Thanks clueless, I dont remember every seeing that brand.  I will have to look at whole foods and see if I can try it out.Nicole...Thanks so much, especially for your second suggestion.  I buy applegate farms for my family and befofre i started with Matia, I found I flared from their meats.  I am going to try the whole foods deli.  Hopefully they will have that brand  (plainfield)at mine.I know deli meats arent the greatest, but I really just need something that is quick and transportable, especially when I am so exhausted and dont have the energy to cook a  full meal or when we go to the zoo, park and stuff like that. Thanks ladies! I can always count on you guys for some great answers!xoBeck
