Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone had food cravings - I'm not talking sugar or too much coffee or a kick ass margarita (been there), but rather food that wouldn't normally fit into the craving category.
When I first started treatment a year ago, and my bladder was much more sensitive, I craved greek non fat yogurt with a ton of sunflower seeds in it - I couldn't get enough. Now, a year later, it has absolutely no appeal. Nor do the blueberry agave smoothies that got me passed the killer sugar cravings. Now it's brown rice, scrambled egg, fett cheese, broccoli and onions, sauted in olive oil, mixed with sunflower seeds and enough jalapenos to cause a sweat and sinus clearing. I know, jalapenos should be killing my stomach and my bladder - they aren't. I can't get enough of them - I'm afraid to tell Dr. B - there's got to be some reason why I shouldn't have them. Anybody got a clue?
Hi, I don't have an answer,
Hi, I don't have an answer, but your cravings sure sound healthy enough.
Thanks for the response
Hi Shelby - I just find the jalapenos interesting - I would think they would kill my bladder - Ah well - who knows.
Have a great day

Funny enough I talked to a fellow with IC and he put cayenne pepper on everything he ate because he was certain it was killing of the yeast and bacteria and he said it didn't hurt his bladder either. I'd be scared to try it.
jalapeno/cayenne
Hi again Shelby,
Thanks for the reply - maybe I'm not crazy. I originally tried the jalapenos when my anxiety was really bad - I had read that it increased dopamine. I was desperate and nothing, at the time, seemed to be working for me. PLEASE, I am not reccomending this to anyone. I have always had very minimal bladder and urethra discomfort. It did, in fact, seem to help short term with the anxiety. Then this craving for them kicked in. Now, when I eat them my head tingles all over, I itch like crazy, and I seem to get a "legal" high. Weird - next time I talk to Dr. B I'll work up the courage to confess my sins and see what she says. I could quite possibly end up making myself worse.
I totally get this
DLFox123! Your not crazy... though my cravings have not been for jalapeno's... but things like I want broccoli (tons of it!) and and loads of garlic everyday! I mean CRAVE it. Or eggs and spinach... not the kind of things you think you would crave!
Luckily, I spicy things like chili powder of cayenne pepper do not bother my bladder at all. It does seem odd.
OMG I must be such a coward,
OMG I must be such a coward, I haven't been brave enough to go anywhere near spices yet.
I love my broccoli & eggs too! lol
