There are two nice discussions regarding pelvic exams on the forums.  Type pelvic exam in the search section.  One person gave great tips on making it more tolerable.  I am not sure of Matia's opinion on the matter.  Maybe you could send her an email :o)

Few years ago, had an abnormal pap and ever since, i am getting paps every 6 months. It definately bothers me for a couple of days, but i think it's important to do them. BUT the worst for me was a recent abdominal/transvaginal ultrasound my gyno asked me to do to rule out endemetriosis/ademeyosis or fibroids. That messed me big time! The abdominal one was scheduled first, but they were running late and having drank 4-5 cups of water, my bladder was killing me waiting. They told me to partially empty, which made things even worse, got terrible spasms. I could barely walk. That took me about a week to get over :( and still waiting for the verdict that is totally freaking me out. I read in past posts that matia can help with these issues. I am 35 now and 5 months into treatment, and scared to death that i may have problems to prevent me from having kids. Praying to god that it's nothing important.

I'm very up front with my doctor about what I need from her. I take jojoba oil (I know this doesn't bother me) for her to use and she uses latex free gloves. I haven't had a problem. Tammy
