ok am reading all the posts here and was wondering if anyone has just urgency and frequency as their main symptoms ( with burning/stabbing pains in urethra as well but not all the time) Ive not had much actual pelvic pain, and am wondering if anyone has seen improvements in frequency/urgency with the treatment. I have been on list one for five weeks and have seen a slight improvement- namely the urethra burning- but havent seen much change in the symptoms i really need to get rid of! soo frustrating even as  i know i havent started the herbs yet and they will make a huge difference. I also dont seem food sensitive, before i was on list one i could have a drink ( alcohol) and i would feel better, if anything, like it was anesthetic for my bladder. wierd. tempted to have a drink some days just to be rid of the constant itchy, irritable bladder feeling, like someone is scratching the inside of my bladder all day long, along with the needing to go straight after ive peed! but determined to stick to diet and see how it goes. Five weeks is such a small amount of time but am impatient for change already. has anyone got any stories of how it was in the beginning for them?and when you say pain, what are you describing? I have been diagnosed with IC but sometimes wonder if its nerve damage, ( i had three caesareans in just under three years) or something else. the cystoscopy didnt show anything but the urologist said that doesnt mean its not IC. just wanting to know if my symptoms really are IC and im going to be fixed with matia....i sound like a hypochondriac lol but i need to know im on the right track.!

your symptoms sound like my daughter's symptoms, and she is doing a lot better under Matia's care. Right now she doesn't have any frequency or urgency for the past couple of days. The herbs do make a difference, but you are wise to start the diet ahead of time. It will help you a lot as well. You are definitely on the right track! I know Matia is going to be a wonderful help to you. :)

Hi- In the beginning I used to say I didn't have pain. I know now that it MUST be pain that makes me cry and want to scream and climb out of my skin. I feel like as a dancer, I am used to pain that I feel in my muscles/feet/knee etc. This "feeling" isn't like that. it is more along the lines of labor pain although not exactly- only in its quality. I think it is really hard to categorize or describe this feeling I feel but I know it stinks!!

Also- I was thinking the sugar in the alcohol may have made the symptoms feel better- but that isn't a  good thing!

Amanda, here's a past thread I found on this: http://www.icama.org/forum/dr-brizmans-protocol/2011/11/05/anyone-being-...
I only suffer from frequency and my biggest gripe is that I'm up so many times at night. Yes, having to go every single hour during the day is ALSO annoying, but I can deal with that. It's the night time that gets me, when I am so tired and all I want is to close my eyes and SLEEP!!
So, to answer your question: For me, Matia's treatment improved my bladder significantly. Just 2 weeks in, I was sleeping up to 4-5 hours without waking! This only happened about once a week, but it was enough to give me strength and hope! As for the rest of the night, I did notice that my frequency lessened as well -- where I was getting up only 3 times, instead of 5-6.
I should note, though, that I've hit a weird plateau or bump, where I haven't been as lucky with my sleep, and I've regressed to waking 5-7 times. But during the day, I can go up to 3 hours without peeing sometimes. I think this is in line with everyone else's experience: that the treatment will have its up and downs and we just have to keep chugging along!
