Hi All

I had a good first appointment with Dr. Brizman.

I took my first mega and 4 RP in the office. I was MAJORLY flaring since about an hour after I took them. The plane and train ride home were horrific.

Dr. B said she needs me to try one more dose so I will in the AM. I am now about a 9-10 on the pain scale. It has never been this bad in the 6 weeks I have had IC (I realize many have been suffering for so much longer)

Has anyone had this reaction to pro and RP? She was hoping I would have a 20% reduction in pain. She was on the fence and considering trying another direction as well.

I was just wondering if others had started out this way. Normally my pain is a 3-4 and I can sleep ok at night. I don't think I will be sleeping much tonight :(

Hi there, yes I had a bad reaction with this as well. When I had my appointment we stayed for a little vacation so I waited with taking any of the herbs until I was back home. I wanted to avoid feeling bad on the flight home. It can be a bit difficult to find the right combo at first I am sure Matia will figure out what is working for you.

Hi Mimi, my first dose was 1 mega + 2 RP and it was painful! For the 2nd dose I tried taking them AFTER a meal rather than on an empty stomach and it made all the difference! Probably best not to try something new before a long journey (I guess u know this now!) Hope u feel better soon.

it can be so hard to trust in the beginning and indeed this process takes time. It is not easy but it is worth it. Try to trust and know that Dr B will collect the clues she needs and sometimes that means you will have a bad reaction. I have had many bad reactions throughout this process. Even sometimes after osmething has been helping for a while, it starts to make things worse. This is all part of the process. Every part is one more clue to the puzzle that Dr B will figure out for you/ SOme people get theirpuzzles done faster!! Try to breathe and trust.

Probiotics take time to get used to. I get a little more pain and frequency for about a week and up to 2 weeks when I started the probiotic or a new probiotic. Then my bladder got used to it. I did not get pain from the RP. But everyone is different so just communicate to Dr. B if you cannot handle it.
