Hi Everyone,
Obviously I am experiencing issues with anxiety. I have seen some people recommend certain authors I should read. I use to be a big book reader but since IC I have a difficult time sitting down reading. I can't seem to focus or concentrate very well. The authors that were recommended didn't have audio versions. I was wondering if anyone had an author who's book was on a CD that I could listen to that they could recommend that dealt with extreme anxiety. I would really like to begin trying to get a handle on this as I am having difficulty coming down from it. I even have a problem with just sitting for meditation even tho I did practice that before IC and my surgery.
Thanks,
Sue
Hey Sue,
Hey Sue,
I am obsessed with this buddhist scholar/practitioner named Reggie Ray. He does a lot of body-centered relaxation work/meditation stuff and you can listen to the guided meditations or the talks online. His books are really awesome, too. Anyway, here's a link to his site and some of his talks. I really like the "guided meditation- 10 points practice" ones.

I also have gotten very into yoga nidra while working with Matia. if you're not familiar with it, it's a systematic deep relaxation technique. Here's a link to a rather long guided yoga nidra.

I find both these have been very practical ways for me to deal with anxiety. Sometimes I feel like I can read about what to do forever and nothing ever changes til I do something about it. And I find that both of these have helped me a great deal. Hope those can be helpful!

Thank you Claire. It's so
Thank you Claire. It's so great to get recommendations. I'm bound and determined to climb this Mountain of anxiety for once and all.
