Hi everyone,
After a poor night of sleep, I decided to put my energy towards my trip next week.
I was wondering if anyone could give me some good suggestions for questions I might want to have answered by Dr Brizman at my first session.
Also, what kind of weather should we pack for this time of year?
We are getting in late on Monday and leaving by flying out on Wednesday at 11:00. Does anyone have any suggestions for what we should do Tuesday afternooon/night? (My appoint. is at 11:30).
Where do I submit the letter for carrying water during travel ? Should that be an easy issue to get okayed? How many waters should I bring for a 6 hour flight? Did anyone bring a cushion for their seat?
I need to have the broccoli, cabbage, celery soup for constipation. What should I eat when traveling to make sure everything continues properly?
I am planning on getting the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face moisturizer (any recommendations there?), body moisturizer, suntan lotion, tinted lip balm - would anyone recommend anything else?. Also, what supplements should I stock up on so I have them on hand when she prescribes them - I guess the most common ones. Or maybe Dr. Brizman already has list she recommends I get.
It was offered that my daughter Julia could come but would be seen by a male doctor, not Dr. Brizman. Should I wait for another trip to bring her, or does she automatically become a ctient of Dr. Brizman's even though she's seeing another doctor?
I know I will have more questions, but I'll start with these first! Thanks everyone.

I suspect that if she is seen by anyone in that office, that Dr. B could follow up with her. But you should call and ask. The male dr. is Boaz Brizman, Matia's husband.
Some people have traveled with frozen soup or frozen cooked veggies which make a nice ice pack and can be eaten at the end of the day when thawed. Maybe the veggies would taste best once thawed? I would oven-roast a big batch, freeze some and bring some at room temp??
I would not buy ANY supplements until you speak to Dr. Brizman.
If it were me, I would bring my magnesium supplements and take an extra one if needed.
When you go through security, they are going to see your water bottle and that is when I produced my letter. Then they pull you aside and check your water.

Hi when I went to LA, I spent a lot of time walking on the 3rd street promenade. Pretty cool night life. Good luck!

That's so exciting that you are finally getting your first appointment! I still have to wait until April 3 for mine. I'm wondering what the broccoli, cabbage, celery soup is that you mentioned though? I'm suffering from horrible constipation through all of this and could use a help besides magnesium.
Hi Watergirl!
Hi Watergirl!
Here is the link to the soup. You can find a lot of good info on this site. I recommend you read all of Dr. B's blog (as much as you can ;) and her dissertation, if possible. It really helped me.

Also be sure you are eating veggies at breakfast, and drink a big glass of warm spring water first thing in the morning if your bladder will tolerate it!

Hi Watergirl,
Hi Watergirl,
I had constipation or as least a slow transit time of movements for weeks. I took the magnesium during that time also. It was recommended on this site that I make the soup with the three veggies (3 broccoli heads, 1/2 a head of green cabbage, and a whole celery stalk chopped and sauteed and then boiled with water and then put in blender). I think it tastes great and you have a veggie to add easily to many meals. When I started having this and extra big salads with olive oil, it really did help me be more regular. I usually have the soup for breakfast and dinner along with another vegetable. I stopped needing to take the magnesium after this.
Let me know how it works for you.
Thanks for your support for my appointment. Do call the office and ask them if you can be on a waiting list for any cancellations. They told me cancellations never happen and then I got a call 3 days later! I got moved up 2 weeks. I waited to order my airline tickets though, so it worked for me.
I'm getting nervous about the traveling part...
