New symptom for me - ongoing breast tenderness

Hello ladies,

I've got a strange new symptom (I didn't think that was possible anymore), I wanted to run by you all. Right after I ovulated this month (within a couple of days anyway) my breasts started feeling very sensitive, swollen and sore. I've now had this symptom for about a week and a half although my period isn't due for another week or so.  This is unusual for me as normally I get breast tenderness just a few days before my period.

Has this happened to anyone else? Do you know what this could mean and/or be caused by?

Thanks everyone,
Lauren

I've had this and it has gone away. Matia told me the breasts, especially under the armpits, are full of lymph nodes and when they are moving toxins they will get sore. I wouldn't worry for now but if it doesn't go away in a week or so I would ask her about it.

I had it for several months and it went away.

Hi Lauren, I had this really bad before treatment, 10-12 days prior, now usually have tenderness a week to a few days prior. I wouldn't be too alarmed at this point.

Hi Lauren!
She mentions it in her dissertation. I just had 3 days of very weird nipple soreness too, accompanied by some lovely ankle edema. Lovely. Fat. Ankles. :)
I would not worry about it for one minute. But of course as others have said you should mention at your appt!

I've had breast tenderness off and on, and I even had a lump that felt tender.  I had a mammogram done and there was nothing abnormal.  The doctor said it was just hormonal changes.  I even told her about Dr. B's treatment and the doctor agreed that it was probably related to that and not to be concerned.  The lump is gone now and everything feels normal.

I get all of this too. Especially on my right side...

Thanks everyone,
I have an apponitment with Dr. Brizman tomorrow, so I'll mention it. Good thing to know I'm not alone in all this weirdness :)

I had this for about 3 months. Tender swollen boobs non-stop. This was before IC and I couldn´t go running or sleep on my stomach because it would hurt so much. The symptom subsided by itself. I guess it was some hormone stuff going on.

So interesting - I developed this four years ago and have been trying to treat it with various supplements, cutting out caffiene, etc. and nothing really worked.  I have been in treatment for IC for 2 and a half months now and this is the first month I have been pain free in YEARS.  Crazy.  I'm hoping this continues and it isn't just a coincidence - I did have a couple months where the pain was less than others.  Now - no lumps and no pain.  I am straight up giddy about it.

Hi Notbeyonce. This information is in her dissertation. Have you read it? Very good read.
Breast tenderness is not a symptom to treat directly like we would in the West. It is a SIGN of underlying imbalance. And ALSO it is a SIGN (In Willow's case) of HEALING. That is, the body is moving toxins away from the internal organs and through the lymph to be cleared from the body. In treatment it is a sign of healing. In illness it is a sign of imbalance.

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

Hey Mimi - I did read the dissertation a few months ago and now have it in rotation with my family and friends to read!  I don't remember fibrocystic breasts being addressed specifically but it all makes so much sense with breast tissue being such a huge source of the lymph.  I knew for so long that something was up with me but not one doctor I saw - naturopath, OBGYN, GP, nutritionist - mentioned anything about changing the foods I was eating or  dealing with the amount of stress I was experiencing!  Sure the nutritionist told me to eat a balanced diet but I felt like I was such a healthy eater (and I was) other than the fact that I wasn't getting nearly enough protein and probably indulging in frozen yogurt (which now I can't imagine eating with all the sugar-substititutes and weird chemicals) too often.  I have a full time job but I just enrolled in a program to study nutrition and alternative health!  What a (rude & ruthless!) wake up call IC has been.

Hey everyone!
Popped on to see how everyone's doing, saw this and HAD to respond - I've had this on and off through treatment, and currently having a really sucky bout of it (about 10 days until period is due; ugh!) coinciding with some lovely spots - guessing it's all part of the same load of clearing out.

I've spoken to Dr B about it too; she said it's totally normal. Every time it happens, though, I still freak out that I'm pregnant, which is fun! Fingers crossed not this month; I'm hoping to try properly next summer. I'll be 36 (one five year old already).

A quick update on my progress for anyone interested; I'm 2.4 years into treatment and doing really well. Symptom free about 50% of the time (like today); mild symptoms (light burning or tickling/awareness in pelvic tissue) the rest of the time. Since the new year, I feel like i've come on loads; still have off days but they don't upset me in the same way any more as I know my foundation is firm.

Hope this is encouraging for anyone reading! I'm off to give my son a bath (while clutching my poor sore breasts)

Love to you all
