Hey guys!
I know there are old threads on this topic before, but I am interested in the consensus right now :)
I have found that right now at least, I cannot tolerate any grains! Even brown rice....it's terribly annoying....but they are painful and I do really well with just veggies...I honestly don't even find myself that hungry for grains either , as I tend to eat a lot of red meat and the fat I think curbs my hunger :)
Have any of you abstained from grains and then been able to add them back in? Potatoes/rice/spelt....none of those work for me....Anyone....? Anyone...?
I don't really mind it that much as long as I feel allright but I'm wondering if not tolerating them means that I'm worse off than others or something bad...
Will I be able to add them in someday?
( BTW, just a sidenote that my bladder has been feeling pretty calm and happy again for most of the day! I love reporting this as it's been so up and down for me, and to let you guys know it can happen!)
Nothing wrong with not eating
Nothing wrong with not eating grains (except your diet might be more boring).
When you try them again, I'd suggest that you start with white (not brown) rice.
Dr. B also did not want me to
Dr. B also did not want me to cut all carbs, probably because of low energy. That is odd about the rice, she has suggested trying to soak my rice first. Hmm, I wonder why? I wwas reading a bit regarding soaking almonds to sprout and read about bacteria, so think I will continue to avoid for now. Does anyone know if this same soaking thing goes for everything? I made congee with just spring water and basmati rice and seemed to tolerate a little better, still some reflux but totally tolerable pain/burning levels. Always best to check with Dr. B with cutting or adding things I have found.
I will often go almost
I will often go almost symptom free due to my diet of eliminted grains. But, like Matia has mentioned, It doesn't last. I then began cutting more and more out of my diet, and then I'll be symptom free for a time, and then I'll realize something new.
Here's my list, in order of how it appeared"
1. Gluten
2. Corn
3. Potatoes
4. All grains
5. Eggs
6. Milk Products (all)
7. NSAIDS (asprin, etc)
8. Soy
I'm sure there will be more.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? I know I should probably be eating more carbs, but good heavens, when I deveate from the list, I INSTANTLY HAVE PAIN!!!! I've been avoiding of the above foods 1-8 for at least 9 months now, going on a year soon.
I recently found out I was pregant (surprise ! :) and now I realized that I can't eat
9. Nuts.
I'm hungry. My bladder hurts. What's going on!?!??
