I am a patient of Dr. Brzman's. i have been for a little over a year. I am 95-98% better from IC. I really dont think about my bladder anymore, but continue to suffer from other chronic issues like dry eyes and now MELASMA. If anyone has experienced an improvement with either of these conditions please send some hope my way. My dry eyes started when I was 20 and the MELASMA only about 2 months ago. I am 34 years old now. Please anyone...

Hey Mary Joe,

I don't have melasma, but I have rosacea.  I get this awful redness on my nose, sometimes bumpy redness, that comes and goes.  Dr. B said that it comes from an unhealthy gut, and it will go away when I'm healthy.  I think a lot of skin issues are like that.

Hi Mary Joe!
Thanks for posting. I too would love to hear how you progressed through treatment. Maybe you could write a short update for us?
I have acne since I was 15 and it never went away. I have recently done a TON of research on topical linoleic acid for closed comedonal acne (whiteheads under the skin that dont easily come to a head). See the research study below on linoleic acid and melasma. My sebum is sticky and not flowy and that is why I get these bumps. Linoleic acid (among other things) helps to make my sebum flowy. I carefully tested Hemp Seed oil (Nutiva from whole foods) ONLY 3-5 drops morning and evening, rubbed on my hands and pressed all over my face AFTER exfoliation with warm water and a clean microfiber cloth (or clarisonic as Sarah suggested). Ask Dr. B about the Hemp.I am tolerating the small amount. It is very high in vitamin E, B vitamins and other anti-oxidants so would NOT be good early in treatment, is my guess. If hemp is too strong, High polyunsaturated safflower oil (NOT grocery store oil that is high in mono-unsaturated fats and is oleic in content!). You have to look on line to get HIGH LINOLEIC safflower oil, but it is milder than the hemp and lower in vitamin e. If I were you I would start with Hemp if Dr. B approves it. It is a magic oil. Give it 3-4 months!! Keep oil in freezer and small, dark bottle in bathroom and change small bottle weekly so oil does not go rancid.

Lisa Ann, later in your treatment you can use cold pressed hemp for rosacea when you think you can tolerate it. I know it is not fixing us from the inside out as Dr. B is doing, but it does help ease these conditions. google Hemp Seed Oil and rosacea.  Here is the melasma study

Let me know how it goes. Hope to hear a bit of your healing story!
