Painful swollen foot

Hi everyone! Me again, I wanted to ask if anyone has had acute onset of pain and swelling. I woke this morning walked to the shower without issue took my shower and when I went to step out I had excruciating pain at the the head of my 5th metatarsal and instantly started to swell. It is still very swollen and throbbing difficult to bear weight through my foot. Dr. M said it could be a type of sensitivity and told me to stop goldenseal. Anyone have this happen to them and know the explanation for it? I plan to ask at my appointment next week, but thought I would ask fellow patients who have had this happen as well. Thanks!

Hi Cprince,

Had this last summer when it started and have residual foot pain now. Last summer I had a series of weird swellings and pain (laid up in bed) in knee and ankle. These have gone but to this day I can't get rid of painful feet. I hobble for a few minutes after sitting/lying down. Dr B said she sees it frequently but I can't remember the explanation for it (was so relieved to hear that it's a common symptom that I didn't listen to the rest!). She says it'll go.

I have been having right heel issues for 2 years. Right before IC started. Now my left foot is hurting also and I thought it was from too much stretch but now wonder if is it more IC related or both. And calves are always stiff when I stand up in the morning until I walk a few steps. Hang in there!

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

Yeah - stiff legs and now - a few times - horrendous cramping in the calves starting while asleep.  I had to leap out of bed and stretch my heel back down to the floor.  Man - that hurt.
