Someone asked me post this because she could not quite figure out how to do so herself:
it was one year ago when i began with boaz brizman. it was a difficult plane ride and the time in the waiting room was interrupted too often by trips to the john. there was no relaxation to my life.i had not been diagnosed with IC and my specialist laughed when i said i thought that is what i had. that dr. told me to have a talk with my bladder.to say the least not very encouraging words for someone who felt she no longer had any quality of life due to her bladder and it's constant and insistent need.today i am so happy to say, with a change in diet and chinese herbs i go about my life with little thought to my bladder (on most days - i do still have some flares, mainly caused by cold damp weather but i know it will not last so i do not let it concern me too much). it is a wonderful thing to say the least and i cannot thank boaz enough for this change he has brought to me. we continue to be in touch over the phone and he continues to help me with other issues that come up for me.i am a 66 year old female and am often feeling better health than i have had in most of my life.thank you boaz, gale raban

Dr. M, can cold damp weather cause flares? I'm having some issues today and It is cold and rainy here - I never thought about it before. What are your thoughts?

The human body is an
The human body is an ecosystem much like our external environment. This is in one part what Chinese medicine speaks about-that balance based on Dryness, Dampness, Fire, Cold, Heat, Wind, etc.....If you have not read it yet, The Web That Has No Weaver is a GREAT book which helps to delineate all of these factors and illuminate the premise of Chinese medicine.
When you have certain conditions on your inside ecosystem, it is very effected by the outside ecosystem. So if your internal ecosystem is too Cold and Damp then cold Damp weather will exacerbate the condition. Going into all the reasons why this happens is lengthy and again, reading all of the premise behind all of this would be great if you can find the time.
This kind of thing is what made me fall in love with Chinese medicine in the first place-to me, it just made sense.
Awesome - thanks so much!!

Livandlex and Gale, I too am affected terribly by weather. The extreme changes we have in the Midwest, one day being warm and sunny 75 to the next crashing to a damp bone chilling 7 degrees, is absolutely awful pain wise through my body. Thanks for the explanation on this Dr. M. Gale so glad to hear you are doing well, thanks for sharing!
makes sense that people used
makes sense that people used to move to climates that were better if they had health issues

Thanks Dr. Brizman that is very interesting about the internal and external environments!!
If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.
