What is taught in western medical school and what is observed by naturopaths, and other holistic doctors is night and day different. Baby's move their bowels after they eat. This is NORMAL. But due to society's conventions, we hold our poop and a lot of things happen such that we dont go as often anymore. We also bulk up on fiber that we dont need to move our stools etc....The conventional wisdom in the holistic world is that once a day is KEY, if you can go after meals, more power to you! Less than once a day is not optimal. A peak at the Bristol Stool Chart #4 and #5 will tell you what your stools should look like and given we all eat too much fiber, most people look more like a 2 or 3 on the chart.
