This only brushes the surface of the type of problems that occur with these types of medications, especially the benzos which, in my opinion become a cruel joke on the human body. However, this aritcle is really nice and informative and gives you a flavor of why it may be best to explore other solutions to anxiety, depression, and insomnia: http://doctormurray.com/2012/10/sleeping-pill-use-dramatically-increases...

anti-anxiety drugs and cancer
When I see a 35% cancer statistic - with no research listed to back it up - also have learned that research can be skewed in all kinds of ways - and it starts to scare the crap out of me, it makes it even harder to get through the day. Because while I throughly believe in this treatment - there are times that the herbs just don't cut it and I simply can't take another minute. So, when I stand there, unable to breathe, find any second of sanity for days on end, this article is anything but nice to me. I'm not saying that it isn't valid, maybe even a hundred percent acurate, but if the protocol doesn't control the level of terror, what options are you able to offer in place of the one that you, maybe rightly so, abhor?

I understand how you feel about this issue. But at the same I thiPosting articles of this sort are importantBecause many people turn to antidepressantsWithout really understanding the potentialNegative outcomes and in situations much leasFire than yours. No situation is 100 percentAn there is certainly always another side.
Dear Dr Brizman
While this journey that I've joined you on has been arduous, two years ago I wouldn't have had the balls to speak my mind. In some ways, even in my anxiety driven craziness, I am more centered. When you combine that with the trust that I feel toward you, I kind of forgot to be respectful. For that I apologize.

It's completely OK. One thing I was thinking after I responded to your post yesterday is that many people, unfortunately not you, experience life changing reactions to herbs when trying to work on anxiety and depression. I have seen people go from the depths of depression and anxiety to feeling utter happiness in days. I think it speaks to the complexity of the human body (including the mind) how differently we all react to things. So while for some the laternative route is the only route, there are people that do need to be resuced from this horrific state with prescription drugs. This is life...there is never one solution for the same situation in all people. But, it is always better to know all the options.
