November 2008
to all of you here in the U.S.! Please celebrate with your hearts and in the joyousness of the holiday and don't allow yourself to feel deprived because you may not be ready for the pumkin pie. Pumkin pie does not create happiness other than for the moment the food hits your palate. And, then it is over in a second, but the pain that will persist will stay with you far longer! And, for those of you that are there and may indulge in healthy sweet eating, remember, use agave pr fruit and bake with whole grain healthy ingredients!
Someone asked me today, if in addition to the common thread that I have found in the lack of maternal nurturing and IC, if trust was also an issue that comes up in the condition. I asked what she meant. Trust for a specific person or persons or in general. Interestingly she replied an overall trust of everything and everyone including myself and my body. And, I thought, well, yes, I suppose that IS true. Generally I think the lost of trust in one's own body is profound in a situation like IC.
I have been asked so many times, and I keep promising that I am going to do this. I am going to give a list of suggestions for remedies to have at home in your medicine/HERB cabinet in case anyone in the famiy gets sick. BTW, our shopping cart will be ready super soon and all of these will be available:) For those of you who are my patients, most of you are familiar with how to use these. They should not be taken without some professional guidance or previous experience. The uses I am listing here are only to give a rough idea of what they are used for.
Health is a chronic problem!
Someone said to me today that although they have been better for many months, that drinking alcohol and eating candies brought back a little vaginal itching, that reminded her she has a chronic problem she needs to deal with for the rest of her life.
I understand that the vaccine issue is a huge one, and I am not advocating or saying that one should NEVER have one. But, I would like to bring attention to the problems that various kinds of medications may pose, vaccines being one. This article is interesting for me because I often think to myself that all of the chronic diseases and problems we are seeing in our aging as well as in our children are linked to the medical practices that we are using in today's world.
I received a beautiful email from someone today that included the folloing quote, I thought it was gracious that I wanted to take moment to share it. Finding that special someone in our lives that allows us to just BE is so important for us to thrive:
A patient asked me the other day to give healthy meal ideas for kids, so here it goes:
...will be at 4 pm Pacific time. We will be using Gizmo5 to connect long distance comers to the meeting. Please use my email to email me privately to receive private invitations to the meeting. I look forward to this event, and am thrilled that it can be done. I am certain the first meeting will be a little rocky in that I have never held a support group meeting before, but I am certain that practice will make perfect, and that we will have a great group of people.
As I have mentioned many times before, children born to women having IC are much more likely to have IC or some other kind of chronic illness. From time to time I post articles on issues with children, and along with the desire to impart ideas on total family health, these ideas are also to help give those babies who are more vulnerable because of this issue a better chance for a stronger immune system. These two articles are interesting:

I wanted to say that through the years, one of the greatest experiences that takes place is the relationship that develops between the person I am treating and myself. I have met so many lovely people over the years. And, as I have said before, in doing this work, it has been really wonderful to connect people that are otherwise worlds apart in commonality and in proximity--heart to heart.
