Hi all,
I have a problem with Natren probiotics. I have to order it from Holland, which would not be a problem if... The delivery company did not lost my package. So, they were 15 days on their way to me. I was told that the first week they were refrigerated, because that is how long the ice packs last. The second week - well, I have no idea under such conditions (temperatures) they were, as the package was lost somewhere. Natren insists that the probiotics can be out of a fridge fo 14 DAYS, and still potent. That´s what I was said by the manager from the Netherlands and Matia confirmed that Natren says so, although she prefers not to left it unrefrigerated for long periods of time.
So, I tried the milk test if the probiotics are alive and after 24 hours they seem to be dead.:( Milk is still milk. Do you have any idea if that test is reliable? I have read somewhere on the internet that it is not (that the oxygen and moist... etc. destroys the bacteria - well, what about my stomach then):). I do have a weird feeling that the probiotics taste a little bit different than the ones I bought in Matia´s office, but I might be paranoid. And they seem to be more... Dry? It harder to mix them in the water, I think. But not for sure. I just do not want to take something dead and uneffective for two months. Would be grateful for any tips!!
Hi Aya
Hello Aya. This happened to me once since i live in Costa Rica. Honestly the only thing that was left to do was taking the probiotics to the university of Costa Rica (to their laboratory) where they tested them. They were alive but lost some potency. Can you take them to a lab??? i think is very important you know for sure bc this is so crucial to our healing. I hope it works out for you.
take care
Hi Veronica, so, you
Hi Veronica,
so, you probably did not put your probiotics into milk, right:) I have no idea if there is a lab that would be willing and able to test my probiotics, but I will try to do some research. Thank you for the tip! And I have ordered new probiotics, this time from The UK - well, I would rather be in debts than do useless things.:) Just to be sure.
Take care!
So sorry
about your probiotic problem, Aya. I hope you get it all sorted out soon. You won't believe what I did with my probiotics. I mixed them up accidentally. I still can't believe I did this. I was only supposed to take 1/4 capsule of the Bif and a full capsule of the other probiotic. Well, I didn't have my glasses on and did the opposite! (The bottles look the same, and I keep them on different shelves in my fridge. Somehow they got mixed up.) I did the mistake twice, if not three times. To make a long story short, I was all whacked out the whole day thinking I have to email Dr. B and tell her I can't tolerate this Bif stuff. And then when I realized my mistake and rectified it, I've been much better. :)
I often think of us taking our probiotics and herbs together in my fancy stemware. :)
I hate how those bottles all
I hate how those bottles all look alike!!
One of the bottles of Bif I have was big- not sure where I got that so I decanted the smaller bottle into that so i wouldn't mix them up. I have poured out many glasses and started over not remembering which one I took.
Me, too, Deir!
I think my 19 year old son moved my bottles around, so I had to come up with a better plan. :)
