Hi everyone,
After flying to the U.S to visit Matia, I have finally begun my treatment and am now 15 days in..
So far I've experienced -
Dizziness
Lightheaded
Depression (completely out of my character) and anxiety
Headaches
Gurgling stomach
Muscle weakness
Sore throat
Can any of you women who have been in treatment for a while let me know how long this lasts?
The depressing thoughts and dizziness have by far been the worst part for me.
Hi Natalie! Welcome! I am 9
Hi Natalie!
Welcome! I am 9 months into treatment and am thankful everyday for this treatment option;) One answer you will hear quite a bit is that how long a symptom persists or whether it happens at all is individual. When I first began treatment I felt like I had the flu for about two weeks and then those symptoms were replaced with tooth pain among other things..... So, the physical quirks will wax and wane with treatment... anywhere from a week to a few weeks has been typical for me. BUT if any one die off symptom becomes too uncomfortable, email Matia and she will help you balance it out. In fact, she explained to me that it is important for her to know if any one symptom is too much because that gives her information regarding our healing and balance.
As for the depression... I am NOT prone to it either but found that both anxiety and depression came into play a few months into treatment. I emailed her, made some adjustments which included adding rhodiola to my treatment and I have been doing well since.
Again, welcome,
Katie
Hi there- I had
Hi there-
I had dizziness/vertigothat lasted for a few days and then it popped up again for a few hours months later, the anxiety for me is directly related to how I feel usually although I recently had a couple days of weird out of normal anxiety from one of the supplements. The only thing that has lasted for me is pain in my upper back and neck which Matia explained to me as toxins getting"stuck" and not draining through the lymphatic system properly so it isn't really die-off per se.
Definitely let her know if it gets too intense or even if you're not sure. The more info she has, the better!
It will all pass!
Thanks for the
Thanks for the replies!
Katie, it's funny you mentioned tooth pain as I had exactly the same thing yesterday even though I had just been to the dentist a few weeks ago for a clean and a couple of fillings. I was about to call my dentist and complain, thinking he had done a bad job haha.. the tooth pain seems to be gone today :)
Can't wait to recover from all of this! Have both of you seen drastic improvements so far with your bladder?
Hi Natalie, Yes, I have seen
Hi Natalie, Yes, I have seen dramatic improvements in my health! My bladder feels much better and more stable on a daily basis! The toughest time for me was between 4-6 months... very up and down! I couldn't seem to eat anything without inflammation occurring and actually thought I had simply become intolerant of food. Then.... the clouds sort of parted on Jan 20th. Since then I have been relatively stable... a few great weeks then a dip.. another few great weeks then a dip, but I have been able to add in more foods and am generally feeling well. My energy is not where I would like it to be and I still have some heart issues I am working out, but MUCH better;)
Thanks for asking,
Katie
Hi, I'm the same, really up
Hi,
I'm the same, really up and down. I just had a really stable month with little bladder pain, mainly stiffnes-soreness but then out of the blue I get bladder-gut inflammation and bam! bad bladder pain again... Yes that's my feeling, sometimes I think I am intolerant to all food!! It doesnt make any sense to me sometimes... I flared wit RP and with yogurt recently, so ok, that's something I can understand because is cause-effect, but this weekend I just randomly flared and I haven't changed anything.!..!..same sad food, same amount probiotics.. it makes you feel so fustrated... I know it will go away BUT I'd love to know the reason for this pain... I am very logical and this puzzles me out. I know Dr B probably would say: this is gut inflammation, your inmune system is getting stronger, so hang in there... then I refrain from emailing. I want the inflammation cloud to part soon as well...this seems forever
Katie: When you say you have a dip, is that bladder pain-inflammation? How bad gets your pain when you flare now?
ps: sometimes I just need to rememeber how I was feeling 6 months ago to cheer me up: urethra pain, frequency, pressure, crawling, vulvodynia, ALL GONE... bladder pain still here..... I AM GRATEFUL
Sonia- The seemingly
Sonia- The seemingly illogical nature of the symptoms drives me nuts sometimes too but it makes me feel alittle better to know that this seems pretty universal. This is certainly not a smooth process but it will be worth it.
Yes Deir I know... Today
Yes Deir I know...
Today for instance, pain level 4-5 before lunch, then I had beef and cauliflower and all of a sudden the pain went away.... reason??? what the heck do I know...! I also found a new pattern.... When I have BM in the morning I can have bladder pain during day, it could be very low pain but defo the bladder gets worse... if I don't have BM I feel fine, the first day of course, but the second I feel slight stiffness on bladder but not pain, and the 3rd day I feel disgusting, bloated, stifff, soar thinking oh dear, here we go again, CONSTIPATION! my best friend.... so not nice.... Please gut, can you heal? can't you????
It feels with this treatment I'm rewinding my health story, because before getting the killing UTI and IC, I had horrible gut problems, sometimes pelvic pain and bad food intolerances. Now I am in a position where some days seem aceptable normal and takes me back to the pre-IC days, I can eat more foods but still have a way to go, pelvic pain is my main problem... So I need to rewind even further, like 3 years before IC .... and then further and further till when I was 16een perhaps and free of toxics.... so Deir, not easy nor fast...!... but I am so grateful that will happen... "I can't wait though" but I will have to.
Deir- what are you main symptoms? I always wonder when you say you feel bad.
Hi Soniafa;) When I say "a
Hi Soniafa;) When I say "a dip" I mean a period of time (usually 7-14 days) when my symptoms are more difficult to manage than usual. It is sometimes only bladder pain, which has lessened in severity, but most of the time it is a decrease in energy, a more painful bladder and an increased heart rate/PVCs (skipped beats) for me. The heart issues I face began 8 weeks into treatment and are unique to my body's expression of processing the toxins and the bladder, small intestine, bladder relationship. ... so I am told;)
Recently, I have noticed that I will think a flare is coming on and it will cause pressure but then dissipate much more easily and not "hang on" for hours or days on end. My body seems to be becoming more resilient to my environment. Here's hoping to continued healing for all of us;)
Deir-- How are you doing? I have been thinking of you;)

Hi Katie, Yes I find my
Hi Katie,
Yes I find my energy levels drops as well dramatically when I have bladder pain, I cannot walk nor move, feel drained and pale...
Is so interesting about your heart rate symptom, but rest assure is die off, I've read at several good books about it and I know you have checked with ur Dr so don't worry :)... I haven't had any weird die off symptoms which is strange.... I might not have candida... JUST holes in the gut... oh my....
I wish someone could find somethind quiker to fix all the damage from antibiotics and bc pills in the digestive system...... but I think god/universe wants me to do this long treatment so I can learn once and for good how to treat my body... I think I've learned the lesson! I promise! Can we speed up things a little? :)
Hi Natalie,
I had tooth pain just a month ago, too. It was so strange, and I was ready to call the dentist thinking I had a cavity or something (even though I just had my cleaning appointment a few months before), and then it all went away. Symptoms sure can be strange. I forgot to mention it to Dr. B on my last appointment, because I was already mentioning other strange symptoms I am going through. :) Welcome to the forum, so glad you are with Dr. B.
