Snacks for list 1

I'm new and need some advise on the diet. I have started on list 1 and it is ok I guess. Not great fun, but I think I can handle it.

BUT I do have some problem with snacks. I don't want to overdo ricecrackers with butter as I think it is important to rather snack on veggies instead of carbs....

Does anyone have a good snack recipes on veggie-snack for list 1?

Hi Kristina, you're right, rice cakes with only butter is not the ideal combination. It's almost mainly carbs and you don't want that. Matia emphasizes the importance of pairing carbs with veggies, especially protein. It's hard in list 1, and even to some degree in list 2 as well. I would prepare hard broiled eggs, and try to carry raw veggies like cucumbers, broccoli and cauliflower. You can also make zucchini fritters, it's a mixture of zucchini, potatoe, broccoli all grated (you may need to drain the zucchini as it gets watery once grated), a little bit of flour to keep it together and eggs and fry them in little olive oil. They make a nice treat that actually looks like real food. When you move to list 2, it'll be much easier if you can add cheese and avocados. Good luck.

Just make sure you are always eating protein with any carbs. Like, when you bake chicken, or beef, make some extra. Then have it hot or cold with your crackers. Adding in some veggies too is ideal.  But avoid having just crackers and butter when at all possible. On list one your only options for protein are really chicken, beef and eggs (and turkey if you handle it). So make plenty so you have it for snacks too. Hope this helps.
