Matia just took goldenseal out of my protocol last week, and now I have extreme muscle tightness in my arms, neck, hands, and upper back. I can barely type this right now because everything is so tight, it feels like they are just going to freeze up on me and I won't be able to move... It is very uncomfortable, and frustrating.
I'm guessing it is die off, but I cannot work like this. I constantly have to keep streching or massaging the muscles. I already emailed Matia, just have to wait to see what she says.
I've had a lot of muscle pain
I've had a lot of muscle pain in my neck and upper back since last June. It usually isn't as bad as what you are describibg but I am a choreographer and haven't been able to really dance so that is a real issue for me for many reasons. For me, Dr B described it basically as lymphatic fluid getting 'stuck" We are working on getting it 'unstuck" I don't think my experience is typical at all. Yours will more than likely be a short lived die off.
I hope you feel better soon!!!
That's good to know Deir, I
That's good to know Deir, I have also had extreme bloating along with it. I literally look pregnant... but I do hope it is short lived. I am 7 months in so far... My bladder is sooo much better, now it's mostly die off I deal with... But I do hope it passes soon.
I have this same
condition as well, Calieve. Did Dr. B give you any advice how to help ease the pain? Mine is in my hands and shoulders. Has yours eased up over time, Deir? Or is it pretty much the same pain since last June? I have had this now for about 6 weeks. It wakes me up at night, especially when I roll onto my left side for that is the worse area. I even have trouble dressing.I thought I was getting arthritic or something (it runs in my family), so I was really glad to read your post and realize it might be die off. I hope it passes soon for all of us!
Mine waxes and wanes but no
Mine waxes and wanes but no sorry to say hasn;t really improved. It is really the most distressing thing for me because of the limitations it causes me with dancing. Mine started pretty much as soon as I started the potocol so It seems to be the way my body reacts to the healing crises and hopefully I start moving along soon! I really think in most cases it is a more limited time event- or I hope so for yoU!
To encourage my lymphatic
To encourage my lymphatic system to gently begin moving again, I began walking just before I started treatment. I have continued to walk around five times a week or so... about 3-5 miles depending on the weather and my toddler's temperament in the stroller:) I feel much better when I walk. Not only do I get into a type of meditative rhythm, but I can feel movement happening in my body.
When muscle tightness occurs... even in my arms and shoulders, the walking helps tremendously;)
Well, the pain went away a
Well, the pain went away a couple hours after I posted this... I really freaked out and emailed her right away... so I sent another email telling her I was fine, and she told me to keep my protocol the same....It has still been coming and going everyday.... but it is not as bad as when I posted this.... So on my next appointment I will ask her what is going on, and post her answer here....that will probably not be until the second week of May.
Headache again but noting progress!
I thought I would write in and talk about where I am today. I am 2 months in on 4/24. I think that my bladder is doing better- the flares seem to occur only if I deviate from the diet, get something on my skin- e.g. bleach or bad sunscreen or have sex. I also had a problem when getting a mole carved out of my ear-precancerous and they had to go deeper. This has been interesting for me since I was very sceptical of the claims that stuff on the skin could be felt in the bladder. also, the flares last about a half day instead of 2 days- that is appreciated. I was also doubtful about die off but I have had some strange symptoms- scalp itching, spine tingling, one night of stomach flu and headache- gone the next a.m. so maybe...
Also, I could not take herbs in the beginning and Dr. B tirelessly worked to get my combination right- something my previous acupuncturist never attempted- she just threw up her hands and said I was off the charts sensitive; Now I am able to take several herbs that gave me a terrible headache in the beginning. She also has me completely off of a 20 year nearly daily routine of antihistamines and steroid nasal spray. And I stopped elmiron instillations which I was really afraid to do but I am doing better off of them. I am still taking allergy shots but less often and less medicine. I tried to go off HRT but that was kind of disasterous so I am hanging out with that for now.
WHen I first looked at the site, I was highly dubious. I am very grateful that I tried anyway because Dr. B is the real deal and I see how poorly I was treating myself with my food and alcohol habits.
Now what I need to do is remember that if I have a day like today where I have a headache, that I don't have to go crazy trying to figure out the cause. Also, that I need to keep trying to eating smaller portions because I really don't feel comfortable being bloated all the time and that the next challenge is to try to honor my body when it says "full."
Thoughts and comments appreciated. Thanks to all who post!
Hi Pterzwife, I was
Hi Pterzwife,
I was skeptical about the skin thing too, but after I read Dr. B's dissertation, I quickly started paying a lot more attention to everything that came in contact with my skin. In the book she said that our skin, and hair care products we use could really affect our treatment. It could really affect someone getting better. After I read that I changed my toothpaste, my shampoo, and conditioner, my makeup, and I always try to wear gloves when I wash dishes or clean with products. .... One time I got a flare after I went to get a pedicure, because they used Aveeno lotion(which has oats in it), and who knows what other chemicals got on my skin.... We have to be really careful with everything!
It sounds like you went through a lot before starting this treatment. Very similar to me, I was also doing bladder instillations, and taking antihistamines daily.... Just push through you can do it, and you will get better.
