Hi,
I'm wondering if any of you ladies have been for a blood test since being diagnosed with IC?
I'm 1 month in to treatment and had a blood test last week to check up on things.. There were a few issues:
Low white blood cells
Low iron
Low Vitamin D
Low potassium
High T.Protein
Anyone else with similar issues?! Freaking out a little..

I just wanted to reassure you that I have the a similar blood issue. My white blood count is low 3.2 when it should be 4 - 13 and my platelets are low too.
I think it is all part of the body fighting against ic. My doctor said its as if I have an infection, yet no infection is present.
I have been eating platelet stimulating foods, like leafy green veg, garlic, bananas,beetroot, bell peppers, seeds, almonds.

I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one.. I kept reading scary things online about people with low white blood cell count having or getting leukemia and I was starting to get paranoid. Totally makes sense that it's because the body is continously fighting the IC. I emailed Dr B and she says it should stabilize over time.. fingers crossed!

I also have had blood test done. And I was low in ferritin (iron storage), D-vitamin and B12...

Hi Kristina, I just realised it was my ferritin levels that were low (not iron) .. so it looks like it may be a common occurance with IC.
