Doing Better

I've been off the radar lately, and just wanted to check in and say that I've been doing a lot better!  Over the past couple of months, I've had gradual progress that has given me the ability to function much better.  I don't have constant debilitating pain anymore, it's more like discomfort most of the time, with pain here and there.  I am still limited in what I can do.  Sitting normally still causes me pain, so driving myself is not possible yet, but I can be a passenger in a car by leaning the seat back a little and it's fine!  This is huge for me because I was homebound for several months.  I am really looking forward to driving myself places LOL.

I can be on my feet and functioning around the house for most of the day, where just a few months ago I only had enough strength to do things for an hour or two before I had to lay down.  Sex is getting better too.  I'm not ready to have intercourse yet, but I can have an orgasm and there is very little pain after.  I've found it very helpful to wash with Matia's olive oil soap after sex.  It really reduces vaginal irritation for me.

Even though I haven't been posting or responding to posts, I've been reading them and thinking about you guys, sending prayers your way.  I have drawn strength from all of you.  We are a courageous bunch and Matia is amazing!

After an intense few months of pain, and then finally starting to get out of the woods, I think I just wanted to focus on feeling more normal and enjoying life with my family.  And I didn't want to post about my progress until it lasted a while and I was sure it wasn't just a short-lived reprieve.  Someone posted the other day about how it seems like people post when they are having a really hard time, and then they just drop off and don't post anymore.  I think a lot of the time, it probably IS because they are starting to do better and life just takes over.

I know I'm rambling a little, but it feels so good to share how I'm doing with you guys and I hope it encourages you.  I am definitely encouraged!

Love,

Lisa

happy to hear you are doing better, Lisa Ann! This is wonderful news! I thought of you so often when I was housebound for a couple of weeks with my most recent flare. And I remembered your sharing how you tried to go to the grocery store and had to turn back home, which is what I had to do when I went to the library. It is just so good to hear about you being able to ride as a passenger now! I used to use this circular pillow to ride on when I went any long distance. It helped a lot. I pray you keep getting better and better! Love and Hugs to you!
