Hello,
I am in 2nd week of treatment, still struggling to find diet options. Just have couple of queries -
1. Where to buy good pure rice crackers ?
2. 2. Where to buy non omega rich eggs ?. Store people say
either there are extra omega eggs or regular omega
3. 4. What I might can do to tackle daily constipation ?
4. 5. In my life I have always eaten Salmon. Any other fish
that might be similar in taste ?
5. 6. Spelt/Kamut is way far, even brown rice doesn’t suit me.
May be due to IBS
My main concern has always been pelvic discomfort, making even sitting for few mins untolerable with too much contracted/spasmatic muscles. My PT says all this & chronic inflammation has made pelvic floor really weak/sensitive. If I sit on somewhat hard surface even for few mins, I get dull ache at the bottom which takes few days to fade off. Anyone else has terrible issues with sitting ?
I need to strengthen my pelvic floor, esp. bottom muscles as my job from next month is changing, demanding travel for like 3 days/wk (where I might need to sit on hard surfaces for some time. Dr Brizman has told me not to do any PT for now, so I was wondering f someone is trying something else. Correct me if I am wrong- this inflammation is going to reduce with time but not sure how to give strength ?
Thanks

Hi,
1) I buy Lundberg brand sometimes organic/nonorganic or lightly salted or unsalted depending on my mood, rice crackers from Whole Foods. Brown rice and sea salt only ingredients
2) It takes time and patience, there is unfortunately not a quick solution. Matia may recommend some supplements to help in the beginning, would check with her. I am 18 months in treatment, still a bit struggling with regularity but definately seeing an improvement.
3) Salmon should be fine for most, try to eat wild caught and avoid farmed fishes. The high omega content may bother some, but overall should be ok.
4) if you don't tolerate those grains, i'd substitue potatoes maybe? I try not to do potatoes much, as it's very starchy, and i have a weakness, i can eat alot of it.
I tried PT and it worsened my condition, mild yoga and streches can help. Personally, the PT was really expensive and seemed like a waste of money. I didn't really get much from it and it worsens my ic symptoms.
congrats on starting the treatment, best of luck :)
Still need some diet suggesstions, desperately
I would really appreciate, any responses
Thanx

On list 2, I eat Mother's or Lundberg rice cakes and I use Food for Life brown rice tortillas (these may not be allowed for you bc of tapioca starch-ask first). I use canned sockeye salmon or wild tuna on salads and I cook chicken in bulk and put meat in a cuisinart with ripe avocado, fresh basil olive oil and salt and process it into a spread (kinda like tuna salad consistency) which I use to dip celery in as a snack or spread on rice cakes. Also nice atop a green salad. I also eat veggie frittatas like crazy, and hard boiled eggs for snacks with raw veggies. For fish I do cod, flounder, salmon, shrimp and scallops most of the time. I bake them or grill them. Sometimes, for a change, I coat flounder with rice flour and fry it in butter. Nice change of flavor. I also cook up ground turkey either in patties to have on hand or just brown it up with diced veggies and use romaine lettuce or cabbage as "lettuce wraps". For burgers, I use cabbage leaves as the "bun" or eat plain with a fork. If I'm craving comfort food/carbs, I make risotto or rice pasta (I'm totally gluten free) which I toss with butter or olive oil, basil, salt and tons of sautéed veggies. Then I add shrimp or scallops or chicken to that. Hope that gives you some ideas. I am 3 years in and not better yet, though, so maybe you shouldn't listen to me?
