Moisturizer with SPF and hair products?

Hi all,

I'm in the process of trying to switch all my beauty products to more natural options. Thing is, it's hard to know what to buy with hidden chemicals in so many products. Can anyone recommend a good daily facial moisturizer with SPF that's also natural and chemical free? Ditto for hair products, like a volumizing product of some kind or a shine enhancer. I was using Aveda for a while but Dr. Brizman told me it was much too strong for someone with IC.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Lauren

Hi Willow,
I haven't seen you here for a long time. Hope you are doing well. I was recently researching the same for hair styling products. I am too chicken to try it but wonder if occasional use of gel woudl be ok if i only use it on the ends. Here is a post by Matia explaining why natural products may not be ok for us while in treatment: http://www.icama.org/blog/mbrizman/2012/08/07/hair-and-skin-care
have a wonderful day.

FYI-That neem stuff is not so bad.  you have to use a LOT of the shampo and REALLLLLLLY scrub.  and make sure you wash it out.  I skip the conditioner.  In terms of gel, I haven't seen anything come up.  For SPF, I would use jojoba and matia's sunscreen.

I'll also check out Dr. Brizman's post.  I tend to get ahead of myself in terms of products I should be using -- but I hate not looking my best.  It seems to add insult to injury when we have to feel crappy and LOOK it too!
I'm doing pretty well. I'm symptom-free most days, which sometimes tempts me to push things. It's also sometimes hard when I'm not feeling or seeing progress for months at at time. Dr. B assures me this is okay, but I'm a worrier and I worry that I'm not making the progress I want.
I should be grateful though that I'm so far removed from where I was when I first got sick. I try to compare myself to back to then and I'm really so much better, it's just hard not to be where I'd like to be right now -- especially since my husband and I are really eager to start a family and I'm turning 35 in about 6 months.
In any case, I'm doing my best to think positive and take things day by day. I hope you guys are feeling well too and enjoying fall.
