Agave

Since for us ICers agave is Matia's staple sugar-substitute -in limited amounts of course- does anyone know if the below linked article is truthful info and from a credible source?

What about the part where it says agave is "from 70% – 92% pure fructose — even higher than high fructose corn syrup (which is 55%)."

Hello Rocket,
I got to searching more on this topic after you posted it, and also have found more and more negative comments on it. I'm far from tolerating fructose, but would like to know if this information is credible or not. Found another article on the negative side on the use of agave.

Deir -- I looked at the Matia post you mentioned -- however the source that wrote it is "Tradin Organics USA Inc. a SunOpta company" which when I went to their website, they sell agave, so it seems a conflict of interest.  I'm wondering if there are any neutral & credible sources with a verdict on agave.

My sister in law is diabetic (type I).  I have experimented with her blood sugar, and she does better with agave.  Unclear if this is because of the relationship between fructose and insulin or what.  Either way, if agave does have more fructose, logic follows that it would be bad? I'm totally confused myself.
