For the last 10 years or so (around the time my IBS and UTI's started) I've had jaw issues.. my main issue is a loud cracking sound when closing my mouth after yawning. My eyes also water when I wake up in the mornings (I read somewhere that this is TMJ related)
Does anyone else have this and is this something that resolves during treatment?
Hmmm, I've had TMJ before on
Hmmm, I've had TMJ before on and off before, and it has resolved under the care of a chiropractor. Conveniently, that chiropractor is my father haha , but a good chiropractor should be able to adjust your jaw actually and put it back into place. Sounds odd and scary, but it has worked for me!
I haven't started treatment yet so I can't comment on that part , but chiropractic would be something to look into. Just like acupuncture, it helps reset your spine and nervous system so it may also even help you during die-off's , etc. as well .
* correction: I didn't mean
* correction: I didn't mean to imply that acupuncture resets your spine haha ( it may, I'm not sure thought!) , but I was meaning to state that just as acupuncture resets your body system internally , chiropractic does so with your spine and nerves.
Thanks for your reply!
Thanks for your reply!
Was that painful? Sounds a bit freaky!
Didn't really hurt, it's just
Didn't really hurt, it's just the THINKING about it beforehand that is the worst part. If you relax during, it should be smooth sailing :) Most chiros should be able to do work with the jaw, but the best ones in my opinion, are ones that do what are called atlas adjustments, better known as " HIO's ( hole in one adjustment ) .
However, just question anyone you are thinking of going to if they could fix your jaw, most would I'm sure :) Also, most chiropractors are covered by insurance as well.
Any other questions let me know!
my jaw does it too
And chiropractic has helped before I had IC. But you would have to get approval from Dr. B!
If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.
Thanks for all your help
Thanks for all your help everyone! Will email Dr B and see what she says :)
TMJ
Hi everyone,
I've had jaw pain and tightness a few times throughout my healing. Dr. Brizman told me that it has something to do with meridians (Chinese medicine concept) and that it will go away on its own.
I would definitely recommend speaking to Dr. B before seeing any sort of adjunct practitioner like a chiropractor or a acupuncturist. She sometimes feels that those treaements can move the lymph too quickly and actually work against the protocol she's got us on. For that same reason, she doesn't like us to get massages, etc.
Good luck and I hope your jaw pain improves!
