Hi everyone- I started with Dr. B in Nov. and Ive had IC for
almost 2 years. My main complaint has been urgency for the past year. In the beginning I had horrible pain, but it had gotten better working with a naturalpath (diet and antifungals). I guess im feeling pretty deflated tonight. I have been doing really well and even had a week where I barely had any urgency at all. This for me is huge since I feel like I have to pee all the time. It all started to go south when I got the flu a week ago. Ever since then the urgency and pelvic pain is back with a vengence. Now tonight I have mild stinging which has sent me into a crying fit. Im so fearful of going back to the hellish stinging stage. *praying for you ladies that are at this stage now. It does get better, it will get better. Also Ive have intense right hip pain. ive read this is common. Does anyone currently have this? I so appreciate all your posts. I guess I decided to join the party. Thanks for listening. Amina

Hi Amina
Glad you decided to post! I have had some ups and downs too (3 months into treatment). I am trying to hold on to the good days and hours, as many, including Dr. B say that they increase as treatment goes on.
I have read that a few peole have had an uptick in symtoms after the flu. It seems to make sense, as it is such a tax on the body. Did you email Dr. B to tell her you had the flu? Maybe she can help by adding something?

Hi Amina,
Damned roller coaster ride of strange and bizar symptoms.  You will get better -even if you find yourself where you are right now.  Please breathe and focus on that.
Hugs

Hi Amina,
I'm in treatment almost three months, started end oct. Over the two years that i have had IC i have noticed that flu or a temperature increases my symptoms for a little while.
I have developed plantar fasciitis, a painful condition in my feet, and know this happens to some other patients too. I had pain in my hip for about a week, it is gone now. I definitly feel that ic is a systemic problem, so we will feel symptoms in different parts of our body. As our bladder gets better, so will the rest of our body.
Nice to meet you and i'm sure we'll be in touch here on the board over the next couple of months. It is so good to be able to talk to people who just know, share ideas, encourage eachother. I am really hopeful that this will work!

CO, if you read this, HI!!

And how is your PF now? I have intermittent heel pain on my right heel. I have had it since 4 months before treatment. How is yours now?

Hi Mimi,
PF started about a month before i started treatment with Dr. B, so have had it about four months now. I have started pilates, exercises to strengthen my core muscles, to take pressure off my feet. I also see a physiotherapist once every two weeks, she has shown me how to do some gentle stretches, also of the calf muscle, (as 'lengthening' them helps) and she has helped me get better orthotics. I do think all of this has helped a bit. Overall, my feet have improved. The intense pain i had at the start has changed into a duller pain. So now i can do more, but i still feel my feet all the time!
Do you get any treatment? I personally feel that will really help my feet, in time, is the work i do from the inside out, with Dr. B.
Do you find it difficult to deal with your heel pain on top of IC? For me it was difficult to accept that i now have another thing to deal with!!
