Hi Everyone,
Today I woke up with a horrible cold/Flu. I’m sneezing continuously; my throat is scratchy, chills, hot flashes, leaky nose, congestion, and headache. I am miserable! I contacted Dr. B and she told me to take goldenseal and oil of oregano. So far I’ve taken it once and I’ll be honest I’m freaking out because the last time I took goldenseal my bladder did not respond well. I have to say I’ve been doing really well these past few weeks and I’m so grateful for the relief I’ve been experiencing. Does anyone have any advise on making myself a little more comfortable? This is the first time I’m not turning to Advil or Tylenol for a cold. Has anyone been put on the same protocol for a cold and how long did it take to feel relief?

I have not had bad cold/flu yet....But I know people do get back on track afterwards. Did you tell her you are afraid your bladder will bother you, and what your plan B might be if it does? Keep in touch with her and take good care. Sending healing thoughts!!! Hope others have more to offer!!
How did you/Dr. B know it was flu and not die off?

Thanks Mimi, I appreciate your response! My kids were sick last week! My younger son got strep throat and my older son had the same symptoms I have. My guess is that it's a cold. I did not discuss plan B with her. I just felt desperate to take something to help with my throat. I've taken 1 dose so far and my bladder is fine. I hope it continues. I have to take it 4x a day.

I agree with Mimi, let Dr. B know your fears. Goldenseal and I don't get along so she always makes adjustments. Hope you feel better soon!

Thank-you ladies, your responses mean a lot to me. I just took my 3rd dose and so far my bladder is handling it. I hope I feel better tomorrow so I can resume my regular protocol. Wishful thinking, I know. This is probably the worst cold I have ever had. The goldenseal tastes disgusting but I can feel how powerful it is.

Dr. B just nursed me through BAD flu with tremendous sinus congestion. I never went through sinus stuff without antibiotics in the past. She was awesome and she had to change it up a bit. It took 7 days.

Thank-you Bonnie! I'm glad she was able to help you in only 7 days. I have a bad headache and my sinus hurts. I'm also congested which does not help at bed time. If my sinus issues continue tomorrow I will contact Dr. B. I'm just so upset because my kids have a week off school (March break) and I wanted to do some fun activities with them but instead I'll be in bed.

So sorry you are not feeling well! Have you tried a vaporizer/humidifier at night for your congestion? It helps a ton! You can find one at any drug store.

Thanks and that's exactly what I did last night and I slept much better. What has also helped me is breathing in steam from a boiling pot of water. I added a few drop of oil of oregano and I have to say this has helped with my sinuses. I'm feeling a little better today.
