Just have to vent. OK, it's true that I'm not in much pain. However, as soon as I go off of heavy duty UTI herbs, the bacterial count skyrockets and it hurts like crazy. This has been going on for six months and I am so discouraged and tired of it all. I just went to my conventional doctor and they're running a culture - again - to check the counts. I'm pretty sure that it's still going to be high as there is more blood in my urine that I usually have and it still has an odor that I never had before this infection. Dr. Matia is afraid that if I use the antibiotics my crazy anxiety might return - says alot of patients are fine if they use the antibiotics but am afraid that I won't be one of them. Has anyone else gone through this?
Thaks for any input
Hey there, Antibiotics can be
Hey there, Antibiotics can be rough. I seem to have side effects with a lot of them but some of them I don't. I will say that if the infecetion has been going on for this long, you may want to try them. A misdiagnosed and then very bad and long bladder infection was the cause of my IC. It can really upset the lining of your bladder. Just a thought. I know that anxiety sucks too.
This will pass though. It's just tough sticking it out.
hugs

Is there any way to figure out exactly what bacteria are in there so you don't have to use a broad spectrum antibiotic? Those are always worse. Is there a special lab you could use?
If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.
Thank you guys - I'm pretty
Thank you guys - I'm pretty sure, as soon as the culture confirms, I'm going to have to cave. I too am worried about how damaging this might be.
Mimi, all the cultures have come back as E-coli without any resistence - do you think there's a more specialized cuture than that? I know nothing about the difference of broad spectrum vs more targeted anti-biotics. I have no idea if Dr. Matia knows anything about this. Such as which are the lesser of the evils. The last time I had an infection was four years ago - it cutured back as resistent to almost all oral antibiotics - the only one that worked endied up filling my lungs with fluid - yep, once again in the 1% side effects.....
Hanging in there like the rest of us - keep on trucking - just tired of the scenery.
What about trying d-mannose?
What about trying d-mannose? I don't know if Matia approves it but it is a natural product and is meant to be E-coli specific.
