Stomach ulcers, anyone?

Before IC, I had always suffered off and on with stomach ulcers.  I had several episodes when I was a very young child.  Then a few years ago, it came back in a bad way due to a stressful job situation.  I had managed to get it totally under control over the span of about six months or so (and with the help from prescription and OTC medications.).  That was about three years before IC hit.  About two weeks ago, my stomach ulcer has seemed to come back with a vengeance again!  Since my last episode was almost five years ago now, I had forgotten how bad the pain is... rivals IC pain for sure (the pinching/stabbing, constant, curl up in a fetal position shaking kind of pain..).  I acknowledge that I'm like, super stressed out right now... just moved across the country.  So now sure if that is all catching up with me or what... Dr. B put me back on cod liver oil (ugh! So nasty! Blech!) last week, but it hasn't been helping my symptoms yet... it's just been making me really cranky.  I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with stomach ulcers while in treatment?  I'm also having an issue with food since a lot of the foods I eat seem to make it worse - even List 1 food.  The only foods that I can tell I'm ok with are almonds, eggs, avocados, and hot rice cereal.  All meats and other veggies I've tried aggravate my stomach.  I'm hoping the symptoms decrease soon, but I'm not sure since it took me so long to get a handle on it before, even with medications.  I have nothing to be stressed over anymore... my move is complete, my new home is in order, and I'm in love with where I live now, so I have nothing to stress about.  Just wondering if anyone else has successfully treated stomach ulcers with Dr. B before?  I'm desperately trying not to resort to the OTC remedies as I have in the past... I don't feel that is an option anymore now that my views on healing have changed.

Congrats on your move Tinkerbell!!
So sorry you are dealing with this. I just wanted to put in a plug for meditation 2x per day (even if it is only 5-10 minutes). It can't hurt!! Maybe you could give yourself a 2 week meditation challenge. Hmmm, I think I am going to do it. Let me know if you want to do it with me ;) Anyone else want to join ? :)

I also wanted to put in a plug for pushing Dr. B for more help if the cod is not cutting it after a bit. She can get creative and try different things if this is not working. She has more tools than we think sometimes. And since you are further along in healing, some of the more "conventional" chinese herbs might work for you now without throwing you out of balance.

Great, I sent you an email.

I ended up emailing Dr. B late last night out of desperation, and she emailed me back with morning with an herb change... so we'll see how this goes.  I also think this issue could be connected to a die-off of some sort.  I started having increased obvious die-off around this same time, so I'm thinking some deep rooted bacteria or something could be resurfacing.  It's a logical explanation to me, so that's what I'm going with... it at least makes me feel better mentally.  *sigh*  This road is not easy.

HI Tinkerbell- No this is not easy! I hope so much that you find some more relief with this new herb change. Sounds like die off could be the culprit. I hope so!

Thank you, ladies!!!  You are so so kind!!  The stomach pain is much duller on the new herb change, and the blasted headache has decreased as well.  Hopefully the trend continues!  I'm convinced it's die-off.

Mimi, that is weird... Perhaps if you try emailing me?  My email is mynameistinkerbell7@gmail.com.  You can try that if the icama email system isn't working right.  I've had issues in the past as well...  I dunno.
