Surely antibiotics have saved countless lives. I am not suggesting that we should not be using them. I have tirelessly posted on this subject. However, I have also commented repeatedly on their toxicity when over used or inapporpriately used, which, is a very high percentage of the time. Too much of a good thing becomes it's opposite. And, in my opinion, that is what has happened with antibiotics. In so many cases, where one would take antibiotics, the better way to go is to use herbs that are antimicrobial which can serve the same pruprose whithout the harsh and sometimes "permanent?" side effects.
I have seen astounding adverse reactions with patients taking antibiotics and in some cases, devastating ones. I think antibiotics should be taken only when there is no other choice. If people did this, I believe it would contribute greatly to reducing many chronic health issues. It is not the sole contributor, but, a big one.

So are we screwed??
Reading these antibiotic stories == I've read others too == is so tragic but also VERY scary... So does this mean if we took these we are screwed? The way they talk about the farreaching and chronic effects it sounds like you can't recover or will be seriously ill for long long time. Many of us including me were prescribed Levaquin... for me, it was the drug given right when things started to come apart years ago.
Antibiotic panic-response to both of these two posts
Don't worry. I am not posting this to mak you worry or panic, but, to illustrate what the negatives of antibiotics can do. This is a part of what I try to rebalance for those of you who have taken too many or taken them in situations where they needn't have been taken. Please don't panic!
This is the number one
This is the number one anxiety inducer for me right now! Getting ready to give birth in about a months time and still having a breech baby poses the issue of a possible cesarean section, which would lead to antibiotics I'm sure. Does this mean I'm going to get worse if this happens and am forced to take an antibiotic?
