Hey everyone! Having a very rough patch with extreme pain, nausea, and diarrhea. I started ginger tea and seems to be helping a bit. I think I made the first batch way too strong and made my throat, esophagus, and stomach burn, and now feeling my urethra burning. Just wondering if anyone knows how often I can have the tea? I have been a crying mess today and the pain makes me do nauteous. Hoping things settle soon. Thanks!

Oh Christina I'm so sorry you are going through this really rough patch. I'm not sure but I'd definitely reach out to her. It must be some really good dieoff :) sending you hugs!

Ouch! Sounds bad, sorry you are going thru this. Is it a gastro infection? Isn't ginger tea too strong for IC patients? Did Matia ok it? I think yoghurt would soothe the throat etc burning - if you are allowed it. If I inadvertently eat something that turns out too spicy then youghurt is my first-aid treatment. (I am a recovered ex patient so can eat most healthy stuff).

Thanks ladies. Fweling a little better this morning. Dr. B did ok the ginger tea, but not sure how often. In attempt to make tea this morning I end up spilling a good portion of boiling water all over my right hand!:( God I suck right now. I think I have a 2nd to 3rd degree burns on some areas. Any suggestions for this! I will also make a new thread. I guess I just wanted to spread the pain. Ugh!

I would just sip it and - I tolerated it  just fine from time to time. Maybe stick to a 1/4 to half cup - it is very strong. If you have having serious die off and nausea maybe write her to get an adjustment?

Dr. B and I were discussing ginger tea in case I got the stomach flu when my kids had it. She said I might have to start with the commercial tea bags as they are less strong. I would start with half a cup of a 4 minute tea bag brew. If you do ok and still need more at another time, maybe make the root tea but dilute it a TON and sip like mary said. Don't take it all at once. Just a sip or two.

Hugs and FEEL BETTER!!

Mary and Mimi this is great info. I made the first batch boiling 4 thin slices of the root for 20 minutes in 2 cups water and it was like instant fire, so threw it out and boiled water and added the ginger for like last 5 minutes and only slight burning. It has helped with the diarrhea I would say. Stomach still feeling a little queasy, burny and stabby.
