Forums:
Hi eveyone. For the past month or more I've been really struggling with stomach issues (seems to be a common problem on the forum recently!) and I really don't know what to do. For a couple weeks it was so bad I couldn't eat anything without getting acid and horrible, horrible stomach pain after. Now the stomach pain has eased, but I still get acid reflux almost immeditely after eating many things and an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. I feel very frusterated because while I have had bouts of stomach issues in the past, I've never had it for this length of time and I definitely didn't have it going into treatment. I keep cutting out foods and adding them back in and I just feel like each meal I'm a human science experiment and I'm getting tired of it. I cut out gluten and eased up on dairy, but I don't know if that's really helping overall or not. White rice, potatoes, all vegetables and all meat/fish seem to be the best for my stomach right now but I feel stubborn and unwilling to let go of things like yogurt and cashews which are totally fine on my bladder but seem to make my acid worse. I don't know what else to eat for snacks! Anyways I'm just really confused over what I should be eating and feel like every food that doesn't bug my bladder bugs my stomach and vice-verca so it's really hard. I feel like every time I eat something that aggravates my reflux I'm doing long-term harm to my bladder? And I'd like to know if it's normal for out stomachs to become way more sensitive during treatment? Is there a reason for all this? Waiting for my apt with Matia to ask more. Any advice until then would be appreciated!!
Hi Megan
Hi Megan
I really feel for you here because I went through exactly this just a few months ago. I agree the stomach pain is unbelievable and takes over your life. I too felt so ill and was frightened to eat anything bc of the pain that would follow. I was convinced I must have a severe problem in my stomach and even had an endoscopy to check but the doctor said my stomach looked fine and healthy. My osophogus was a bit inflamed but thats all. So it just showed it was a chemical inbalance.
I think after this I gradually started to get better until now I have virtually no stomach pain at all. So it will ease, I also never had this prior to treatment. I also could not tie it down to any food.
Dr B said it could be caused by emotional stress and its possible that was the case for me in the 3 months building up to that time.
I hope you start to feel better soon, It went away for me on its own accord so I'm sure it will for you too.
I have stomach burning on and
I have stomach burning on and off. I am not sure what causes it. It is a new symptom for me. Digesta-Lac helps in my case. It helps with digestion and burning.
Agree with others. it will
Agree with others. it will pass. Don't stress about which foods unless one really jumps out at you or you will drive yourself crazy. Is a bite of cheese ok? Can you have veggies and a hard boiled egg as a snack? One thing I try to do is eat enough at meals so that I don't need to snack.. Also, a slice of applegate farms roasted turkey and a few vegges might be ok and is portable.
I think it is worth buying sprouted nuts to see if they digest better. At livingnutz.com, the sell raw AND sprouted nuts (be sure you are selecting the sprouted ones). Worth trying as they have thier natural enzymes preserved and are supposedly easier to digets.
I have had this too and it has come and gone. She will sort it out. The digesta-lac did NOT help at first, and now it is. Hang in there!!
If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.
Megan, I too was recently
Megan, I too was recently having horrible indigestion along with what seemed to be an IBS flare. When I spoke with Matia about it, she mentioned it was die off.
You might try just having
You might try just having dairy on an empty stomach only not combined with anything else. And meat and veggies with very little starch like rice or potatoes. Also careful with fats like nut butters etc. or even nuts as the fat can cause the major burping of acid reflux. Veggies and protein, starch and veggies together is best although Matia wants us to add a little starch to the veggie and protein.Lots of water all during the day to facilitate digestion...
