Hello,
Please breathe.  There are all kinds of REALLY strange things that happen while you're in treatment.  While I can't say for sure - I have never heard of anyone being told to fast.  So, for myself, I wouldn't go there.  What I would do, if I can't handle it, or if it doesn't settle down in the next week, is to contact your doctor - Matia or Boaz.
While acidity hasn't been much of a problem for me - severe stomach cramping and diarhea has been my main friend when it comes to tummy trouble - all of which settle down after a couple of days. Hang in there
Hugs

Me again - search acid and you'll hear from lots of people who've had to deal with it.

Ranjit this is a normal part of your body rebalancing. Since it is a sudden and intense new symptom I would contact Dr. Boaz to see if he can adjust your protocol and make you more comfortable. Your symptoms probably mean you need an adjustment. You will have MANY, MANY adjustments in your protocol during treatment and you need to let the Dr. know so it can go more smoothly.

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

Ranjit, I am 6 months in treatment and have had the same symptoms on and off for the last few months. It also only started during treatment for me. Like you I'm prone to acid reflux but before treatment would only get it if I was very stressed or nervous. Matia has tried to assure me that she isn't overly concerned about my stomach issues .. she adjusts herbs slightly but thinks its part of the detox process. So try not to worry too much although I know the feeling is horrible when everything you eat gives you acid. Try not to stress about certain foods causing it etc.. I experimented with all that and I've come to realize its not the diet or any certain food that causes it. If you are eating a lot of raw veggies though it might be better to have more cooked veggies for now... raw veggies can be quite hard to digest for an already sensitive stomach. Hope this doesn't last too long for you!

Agree that better to eat pureed veggie soups and cooked veggies. Also try to drink your water away from meals.

Great Ranjit! I hope you have the veggies with butter or olive oil to help absorb the nutrients.

Hi Ranjit.  I have a history of stomach acid and stomach ulcers... it started long before IC, mainly due to stress.  It came up again during treatment.  I think it mainly had to do with old issues "resurfacing" due to the healing process.  It took a couple months to resolve and after going over mega details with Dr. B, she helped me to figure out that I was eating a lot of foods that were super high in folic acid (almonds, asparagus, etc).  After cutting out those simple things, my stomach has been perfectly fine.  I can't say yours is due to that, but the next time you have an appointment with Boaz, let him know.  He might be able to help you figure out what may be causing it, or if it is just a part of your healing process.  I hope that helps some!
