Paradise Rhodiola

Hey all,

due to the fact that Electic has stopped making their Rhodiola, Paradise Rhodiola was what I was told to take.  Has anyone else had to do this?  If so, have you noticed any stomach distress with it?  All of a sudden I have gas, heart-burn, and some stomach pain.

Thanks for any input

Denise

Oh Dear Denise. That is very concerning. Can you please let M Brizman know ASAP in case this has been an issue for others? I have not switched yet but did buy some bottles. I hope you feel better! Could there have been anything else?

I used Paradise Rhodiola a long time ago (before I tried Eclectic) and there definitely is a difference between the two.  Paradise doesn't seem as strong or effective as Eclectic.  I don't remember having stomach issues with it, but it was a long time ago.

My daughter and I are both on Rhodiola right now and down to our last bottle of Eclectic.  I hope it comes back soon!  I bought a bottle of Paradise brand, but I'm crossing my fingers that we don't have to use it.  I'm sure Dr. B will make it all work, but it's a bummer.

Hey Denise,
Matia said to me that we can try any brand of rhodiola as long as it has a similar percentage of rosavins and salidrosides (I'm guessing on those words as I don't have my bottle in front of me) and that it doesn't have any other added stuff.  She said to just bring my eclectic bottle to the health food store and then compare labels on other brands.  So, I'm sure she'd be open to you trying another kind if paradise seems to be bugging you.
I have also been wondering about switching over, as I'm down to about half a bottle of eclectic and was thinking of sort of mixing the 2 together to make for an easier switch. Does this seem overly cautious and silly? IDK.  I also noticed that that paradise caps are larger than the eclectics and didn't know if that is anything we need to consider.

Hey Claire,

I looked online at vitacost for some other options, and Jarrow looked promising as far as the same amounts of Rhodiola Rosea, etc.  But it has a few things added: "Magnesium stearate (vegetable source), cellulose and silicon dioxide. Capsule consists of gelatin."   So I don't think it would work.  Maybe there is a little-known brand out there at the local health food/supplement store.  We don't have any places like that around here.  I've been able to find some things at my local Vitamin Shoppe, but I mostly order things online and I haven't had much success finding something better than the Paradise brand.  If anybody does though, let us know!

Oh, I forgot to say that Matia said "GNC brand actually looks pretty good!"

Silocone dioxide is SAND so let's avoid that one LOL.

Paradise Rhodiola tastes pretty bad compared to Eclectic. Anyone else not liking Paradise? I suppose it doesn't matter if it does the trick,

FYI looks like Eclectic is back in stock. I saw it listed by a few companies on Amazon.

Yes, it is.  I just ordered it directly from Eclectic. :)

FYI - if and when it gets back to I-HERB - it's almost $6.00 less a bottle - always has been.  I've never understood why you pay more if you order directly.  I think it's the same with Natren - I always order from I-HERB

I agree Denise. I find Eclectic cheaper on Amazon. I also have been buying my Natren probiotics from:
http://www.ocproactivehealth.com/natren.htm    They are shipped directly from Natren, they always arrive cold and the are much cheaper then ordering from Natren!

I know it's cheaper other places.  I just went ahead and stocked up just to make sure I had some on hand.  I'm so sensitive to every little change that it was important to get some Eclectic while I could.  Maybe I should have checked on Amazon first, though.  I have Amazon Prime, LOL!
