Forums:
I live in Florida and due to distance, prior committments and expense my first appt is not until May 15. Because of the pain I started the diet a month ago. I have had some die off and the pain has subsided greatly. I have been strictly adhering to list one. I just started having a feeling of pressure in the rectum. I am taking Dr. Mercola's probiotics and having one to two bowel movements daily. I tolerate raw veggies wellt. I am ordering the squatty potty and drinking the hot water. Have read the panel on Prolapse. Is there anything else any of you can recommend more? I have a good chinese med dr here but i did not want to take anything that might interfere with the program. Maybe up my volume of raw veggies? Its 4:00 in the am here and im up drinking hot water. So want to prevent future problems if possible. Just trying to stay well enough to travel to LA in May. Thanks for any advice you may have.
Hi- I have heard several
Hi- I have heard several people have rectal pressure as a symptom.
I would be careful taking probiotics right now. You will see when you work with the Doc that they are super incredibly careful and tailored individually about using probiotics. I am not on them at all although I have been in the past and probably willl be again
May 15 isn't that far away- best of luck
I had rectual pressure a lot
I had rectual pressure a lot during the first year of treatment. There is a lot of lymphatic tissue in that area so after I peed there would be a movement of lymph and a lot of pressure. Especially if I was taking something that really stirred up the lymph. In this treatment we have to move the lymph VERY slowly as our lymph is very backed up. This is why we avoid sauna, massage, colonics, etc.... My rectum pressure was in large part due to face creams I was using that would go straight into my blood stream from my skin. so check your skin care products. Even if they are "natural" that is absolute no guarantee that they wont cause extra inflammation. Things like extra virgin olive oil and vitamin E can cause a lot of problems early in treatment
Also I would cut your raw veggies WAY down. Most of us going into treatment really, really need to cook our veggies. I can't stress this enough. There has been such a huge emphaisis on raw this and that in the alternative community and it just does NOT bear out for people in a holistic protocol for GI healing. Our guts are BROKEN. Raw veggies come later when we have restored our GI flora. Even if they don't seem to be causing you problems I would try to cook most things and add grass fed butter such as Kerrygold.
No need to drink extra hot water. Also be sure to drink SPRING WATER. This is critical. Most of us get a delivery service so you can have all hot/cold beverages from SPRING water. Filtered is not the same.
The purpose of drinking a glass of water is to stimulate the gastrocolic reflex to have a bowel movement. The normal time for a bowel movement is probably somwhere between 6 and 9am in the morning. At 4am your body is doing other processes so I would encourage you to rest at that time! If you are driking water to help a BM, have it when you know you can relax for a bit afterwards, just before breakfast, as long as you are not running out the door.

Yes and I ABSOLUTELY agree
Yes and I ABSOLUTELY agree with Deirdre that the probiotics could be an issue. Dr. Brizman uses specific probiotics and single strain so they know exactly how/if your body is tolerating them. The probiotics they use are from one of the best companies in the world and she has used them for many, many years in the treatment of IC. Not all probiotics are created equal!!!

Thank you so very much. I
Thank you so very much. I will heed all the above information.
ugh my yeast does not like
ugh my yeast does not like that I changed from the Ghee to Kerrygold butter. Thus begins the battle between the bladder and the yeast!!!!!
Patty, what do you mean yeast
Patty, what do you mean yeast? You mean vaginal yeast infection or some other sign of yeast. I have never heard of butter aggrevating yeast. Most of us use butter on this program. You have a lot of other variables since you are not in treatment yet. Did you stop the probiotics or are you taking any other supplements?
