I have been very sick for the last week and a half with fever, nausea, and very high pain. After much contemplation, I have decided I need to see a urologist (Matia is encouraging this) to see what is going on. My appointment is tomorrow morning. Thank you for your prayers.

Went to the urologist this
Went to the urologist this morning and my urinalysis showed no signs whatsoever of possible infection or cancer or anything in my bladder or kidneys. That is the good news.
But he did refer me to a gastroenterologist. From what I was telling him, he felt like the problem was "higher up" in my digestive system (of course, don't we all know this!). Matia was happy to hear that he recognized it!
So I was able to get an appointment with the gastroenterologist on Monday afternoon, thank goodness. I talked with Dr. M today about everything and she feels that if the doc wants to do a scope or colonoscopy or whatever that it is important to go ahead and do it. Meanwhile, she is working closely with me to figure out how to calm the pain with herbs. I can't say enough how grateful I am that she has been so attentive through this crisis. Please pray that we will hit on a dose that makes all the difference in bringing the pain down significantly. It's happened before for me many times, and I would be so grateful if it would happen again.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and warm thoughts! You all are the best women in the world, seriously!
I will keep you posted.
thank you for the wonderful

I'm late to the game, but
I'm late to the game, but want to add that I've been thinking of you so much for the past few days and sending you good thoughts. It's so scary when you're in high pain for a prolonged period but I am glad youre connected with a good team of people who are trying to help and that Matia is so present for you right now. Her steadfast determination with each of us is truly unfathomable to me. I don't know how she does it.
I hope that the fact that you at least have a plan of action is bringing you a little reassurance amidst this crisis. Please know you're in my thoughts. xoxo

Patty, thank you for the continued prayers.
Claire, yes it is bringing me some reassurance and peace to know that I have a plan of action. As long as I can get adequate pain relief through the tests and procedures, I will be okay. Thank you for sending me good thoughts.

So here is the latest. My
So here is the latest. My husband and I are going up to Tennessee to stay with good friends of ours, one of whom is a trauma surgeon, and figure out what is going on with me. I called him this morning just to get his advice on how to navigate getting tests done and he offered to coordinate everything if we would come up to Tennessee. He has lots of contacts and doctors that he trusts who will be able to see me quickly and won't do anything unnecessary.
I feel like this is an answer to our prayers. I am nervous about the drive up there and all the changes happening at once, but my husband and I believe this is the best move to make.
Wow- You can do it, I know
Wow- You can do it, I know the drive is scary but you can do it. What kind of tests/drs are you hoping to do? I am so glad you feel at least a good sense of your next move. G.O.D- "Good Orderly Direction"

me sitting Good luck, Rachel Ann! I'm praying you find the answers you need! You are always in my thoughts and prayers! Please keep us posted and call when you need to talk! I so understand your fear and wanting answers, are you going to see the GI Dr tomorrow before going or just heading straight to Tennessee? Safe travels, take lots of rest breaks on the trip to get out and stretch your legs and rest from sitting. Have you tried thermacare heat patches to put on your pain sites, I attach to my clothes so have a layer between me and the patches. Live savers for me when I have to be mobile when I just physically can't handle the pain! Wishing you all the best!

Hmm sorry trying to type on my phone and the new site makes it really hard for me on mobile devices curser jumps all over the place, so, sorry for the typos and the random words in different places in my reply!

Praying for you and sending healing thoughts. Is it possible you have become very sensitive to a certain food? Just wondering if they will do some spelialized allergy testing too? Praying for some relief for you!!!

Thanks so much for your well
Thanks so much for your well wishes, ladies (and friends). I am going to cancel my appt with GI doc today. I will have appts with a GI doc, urologist, and gynecologist up in TN.
Christina, that's a great idea to get the Thermacare hot packs. I have used those in the past, but our local stores stopped carrying the ones for the pelvic area. I definitely need to look again.
Mimi, I don't think it is food sensitivity, but who knows. I've been eating the same six foods for the last 2 1/2 years. We'll see what the docs say.
One more thing I need prayer for, and this may sound silly but I know you all understand. Because of taking Vicodin for the pain, I am really constipated. Pray that I can have a good bowel movement today. That will help to bring the pain down (after the initial ouchies of having a bowel movement).
Love to all of you!
